Whelp, these are as finished as they'll ever be, so I figured I might as well just post them.
NOTE: None of these levels are completed, so if you see some weird stuff, or some things don't work right, well, that's why.

Alright, this was supposed to be a grand huge spanking level series or something. I had an entire three chapters planned for it, each chapter containing two levels. Instead, I just made part of the intro before getting bored of LL and scrapping everything. Oh well.

This is the beginning of the first level. No real gameplay here; just setting up the story and showing off some neat tricks.

... woah. Great job Four! The boss was awesome, and you really are good(and not to mention patient) with triggers. One complaint though. You should add more scenery and background. Makes the level m look appealing. But other than that, good! 9.8/10

Purely epic. If you can do that with what we have now, Runouw would only need to add adjustable HP and damage for instant bosses. Plus you are way more patient with triggers than I am.

Haha, good job, J! :awe: I actually had a couple more attack patterns planned for that boss; maybe I might make them some time...

Yeah, the triggers do take some time, but if you can figure out the raw text coding (I haven't tried yet), I'm sure that could save some time.

Adjustable HP would certainly be nice, but in the mean time, there's still a lot you can do. The knight actually has a good amount of HP; the problem is just that you get to wail on him for too long while he's down. You can increase the length of a boss battle by shortening the window of opportunity to strike at the enemy, as you can see in my boss battle (unless you were cheap and used magic; I meant to disable magic in that fight but forgot :X).
Another thing you can do is simulate your own HP system: I had planned this other boss battle where the boss couldn't be physically struck with your sword (it's made of moving blocks, but it can work with regular enemies, too). Instead, you had to do certain things, such as jumping on its fists or head, or simply waiting out its attacks, to reach a switch which would activate a cannon, which would cause a little cutscene of a cannonball hitting the boss. You would have to do this three times, after which the boss would be defeated. The nice thing about this is that you can actually properly end your boss fight, having the third switch unlock the passage to the next room, something that currently can't be done with the boss battle I posted here. : O

This is what I mean by adjusting "flinch," you would have to hit him several times before he falls down. Setting it to a ridiculously high number, say, 50 would mean you'd need to make several successful hits in a short amount of time. This would stop unnecessary falling down.

Duely noted. In spite of this I still found it rather easy, but then again I'm not too average in my gaming skills as I am naturally talented with video games.

That would actually work quite well. Deal is you'd need a switch/trigger for activating each shot. Triggers for the shot itself, and once the cut-scene is over it needs to move the trigger(s) for activating the second shot. After all three are fired another trigger(s) for the boss being defeated. On top of that you STILL need the triggers for the boss itself. But if you have about a weeks worth of free time doing such a feat could be pretty easy, just tedious.

Gah! I thought the exact same thing. The boss was a machine with steamrollers, and you had to get in the room on the other side of the room, and input the right combonation of color switches. You do this while little rocks are falling occasionally, and the boss has an attack that changes the "wind" of the level at random times.





Don't even think about stealing this.
