Epic Creations

I was bored, and whipped some stuff to populate the kingdom I shall now call Vevelstad:

Big Scary Dungeon/Temple place Exterior: show
Image
Rather imposing, I thought. The central tower is stone bricks, and is surrounded by a glowstone tower, a netherrack tower, and an obsidian tower. Each is connected to the main one with a bridge, and the three external towers are all connected with massive arc bridges. Yay for not using a sphere generator! This is a work in progress, combined time so far is 8 hours. I figure it's roughly a quarter done.

Big Scary Dungeon/Temple place Interior: show
Image
Still pretty intimidating, right? This is from the central tower, which has five floors. Each has a unique pattern of glowstone and lava/water insets, and will eventually be used as a kind of mas the player must navigate to get to the top. Also, the glass column in the middle... That's for an express route to the underground section, all ingeniously hidden under a trapdoor way up at the top.

Riverwatch and Docks: show
Image
First project of the world, nothing too fancy. Just a basic house and dock, with four watchtowers straddling a river. Makes a great creeper target practice standpoint.

My fancy-pants castle: show
Image
Yay, my castle. Not finished yet either, but the inside is fully functional. Even build a lab underneath it, for the science.

Lunar tower: show
Image
One of a pair of towers in line with the rising moon. Picture taken at dusk for dramatic effect, there are currently plans to inlay the walls with obsidian runes and stuff to give a mystic feel. A solar tower opposite (in line with the setting sun) is also planned.

Also, just a side note. All of this was made in Creative Mode, so... I guess you could say I cheated while acquiring blocks. Oh well. I'm happy with by creations.

'NOTHER EDIT: Figured since the Minecraft forum is a subforum, and since they're always less active than the main forum bits, that it would be okay to bump this. If it's not, that's cool, I'll delete it. Or one of the mods can. Doesn't matter.

Ven, what was that seed, at what co-ordinates did you build the stuff, and did it involve digging out a lot of sand?

Also, that first one looks like the spire from Episode 34 of SoI.

The seed used was d74g0n, but I don't know if it'll still work what with all the updates Notch has been pouring out lately. As for coordinates, it's all scattered across the map. I could go look them all up, and mark them on the map, but that would be tedious. I'll do it anyway if you'd like though.

Nice. I should probably try to make something cool on creative mode and NOT give up like usual.

Just juggle nine different projects. Of the six or seven I've started so far, only one is done. :p And as for Kirby's server, isn't it never up anymore?

Me is making a mansion, loosely based off this design: http://mconstuct.wikia.com/wiki/Mansion

I've done the roof of the bottom floor so far, and I'm just about to start on the first floor. I can just imagine this mansion in SMP... :D

Stage 1 - Roofless Bottom Floor, Windows: show
Image
Isometric view. Notice the fence poles on the bottom right, those will be the patio, uh, pillar things.

Image
Front view. I made that little red-blue thing because bare wood was boring. :D

Image
Back view. That brick structure you see is actually the faux-fireplace sticking out; that's what it looked like in the plan.

Image
Bottom Floor Corridor. Since the mansion is made out of wood, and the carpet is wool, I daren't make a proper fireplace, so glowstone will have to do. All the doors on the side lead into rooms.

Image
One of the three Small Rooms. They're all near-identical, some of them just have different windows, I think, as well as some being mirrored.

Image
One of the two Big Rooms. This one has a cross instead of a window on the wall, as it faces into the store-room. The other one is of normal design.
P.S. Mozaik Role rocks.

Image
Top-down view of the Staircase and Storeroom. You can kinda spot the other side of the cross. Also, I added Glowstone girders because it was dark and seemed kinda appropriate.

Image
Top-down view of the whole thing. First one to spot where the only two torches are gets an ASCII cookie.

Image
And finally, this is what I was talking about when mentioning 'spying in SMP', as all the windows line up. WINDOWCEPTION (urgh)
Stage 2 - Roofs, Lighting and Stairs: show
Image
Side-on view of the soon-to-be patio's roof. I have honestly NO idea what drove me to use sandstone.

Image
Top view of the new bottom-floor roof, made by hand. Those holes are the Storeroom ladder and the Staircase.*wipes forehead*

Image
Everything is dark, so I need to add more lighting D:

Image
Did someone ask for more lighting? :troll: Anyway, I also added regular torches around the outside walkway to prevent surprises.

Image
First-Floor section of staircase. What's the wool, you ask?

Image
Image
:3

This was all done in Creative mode, with only TMI as a mod (to switch off rain, go into Creative and keep the time day).
