Okay, my next goal is to ask what the conditions of sheep spawning is!

To get the most wool you can off a sheep, use shears instead of just killing it.

Master1.0 wrote:I have a little obsidian farm with about 20-30 blocks of obsidian but without a diamond pick I can't do anything with it.

When you do mine the obsidian, make sure you place nearby water so that it can turn the lava that is inevitably underneath some of that obsidian into more obsidian. That way, you don't lose any obsidian blocks you break. Just don't be submerged in the water, because it slows down the already slow process of mining obsidian. You could also drown.

Master1.0 wrote:And this kinda points to the fact that I need diamonds.

Just keep looking. The ore generates on the 16 lowest layers of the map, the same height for redstone. Try looking around the vicinity of redstone ore for diamonds.

Master1.0 wrote:Actually, I mided a 4 block radius hole to bedrock level after I got home. The very instant I heard it, I hit a block to the side on accident and... Well, that's not up for discussion.

Tip: Don't dig straight down! You may run into underground lava lakes, dungeons, ravines, pits, etc.

Don't dig straight down, or up.

Unless you're bored and just feel like screwing around, like I usually am.

Okay, I'll reveal what I really found. The block to the side I only lightly tapped. As it turns out, that hole happened to be connected to a Stronghold, so what I hit to the side was a silverfish block, so it released a bunch of them while I was still stuck down there.

Anyway, I made a very nice working cobblestone generator. :3

Daily Objective: Build a mob trap!!

EDIT: Forgot about this, the other day the game was having render issues that I couldn't fix. Today it's fine, but here's the thing about yesterday:

Basically, because of the failed rendering, you could see through the walls. This means that I could see EVERYTHING under me, which means I know the locations of maybe 3 ravines, 4 mineshafts, and what I think is 1 Stronghold.

♥♥♥♥. I'm stuck on the balcony of my shelter, and what other mob but a spider jockey would be right under me? I can't go to sleep because it says "monsters are nearby, no sleep for you ♥♥♥♥♥", I have no armor, I need coal to cook my iron ingot, all my important stuff is still in an abandoned mineshaft after I was blown up by a creeper, and there's no way I'm going to get out of my house if that spider doesn't disappear. It's also raining, so the jockey is going to be there until the rain stops AND it's daylight.

However, I REALLY need the crap that they both drop, so I'm kinda stuck here.

If there's a spider jockey under there, wouldn't the skeleton suffocate while the spider pushes up?

A: It shouldn't be able to get on the balcony because I don't think that a spider jockey would be able to climb on a ceiling (but what do I know?).

B: Apparently, I found that the thing dismounted after I headed downstairs to see a ♥♥♥♥ spider in the window with no skeleton rider. :o_O:

It hasn't dismounted, the skeleton suffocated while the spider was trying to go through the balcony. The spider and skeleton are treated as seperate entities, just glued together or something.

The Spider controls the movement, so a Spider Jockey will wander aimlessly in the day and only pursue the player at night or in dimly lit areas when the Spider is hunting. However, the Skeleton will turn and fire at the player as soon as it sees them no matter the time of day (although the Skeleton will quickly burn in sunlight, leaving the Spider unharmed). Because Spiders can "see" a player through solid blocks, Spider Jockeys can ambush unsuspecting players in sufficient darkness. If the Skeleton shoots another hostile mob, it will focus its attack on the Skeleton but not the Spider being ridden, even after the Skeleton is killed.

When exposed to sunlight, the Skeleton will burn and die like a normal Skeleton, but the Spider will remain active and deadly.

Sometimes though, a Skeleton can get off a Spider after a certain amount of time. The exact cause of this is unknown.

Sure I read this part, but I took a closer look.

Because a Spider Jockey can only spawn where an ordinary Spider can, a Spider-proofed area is also Spider Jockey-proof. Consult the Spider article for more in-depth explanation. The usual guidelines of good lighting and installing doors from the outside apply.

If an overhang is built into a wall, not only will the Spider Jockey be unable to climb over it, but the Skeleton will be suffocated in the process of being pressed into the overhang.

So apparently it can. I wish I knew it had died sooner, otherwise I would've been hauled up in my top floor for a day or two.

Decided to revive the dead topic of my survival in Minecraft! (Now with TMI!)

NOTE: I DID use too many items so I could get enough wool, seeing how I don't have to time to wait an hour for a stack of purple wool or anything. That's just how it is

Made a brand new world, spawned in an NPC village next to a jungle, and decided to make it spiffy.

TMI's inventory editor, if you haven't seen it yet.

I'm working on the village, so I'll have more screenies made whenever I complete something. Master Out
