Yeah, I got a Minecraft account the other day.

I ♥♥♥♥ love it, but the controls are what get me.

I'd like to know if anyone has a nice set of keys for me to use, because it's pissing me off.

EDIT: Also, there seems to be something wrong with my inventory. Great...

Walking is simple, looking around with the mouse... What's the problem with the controls (and inventory)?

WASD movement, mouse-controlled viewpoint, spacebar to jump, double tap to dash, shift to crouch.
E for inventory,
Q to drop items,
ESC for options,
1-9 for hotbar.

Not sure how much easier it can get...

That's the thing the inventory keeps being an @$$hole and I can seem to move items around. I also need to know what I'm doing wrong with the little selection bar because it won't move.

The controls? I;m going to see how Kirby's idea is. (Probably the default but I tried o find an easier way)

EDIT2: Survived my first night, fixed the controls, and blah. Going to change this into a topic on reccomendations and such now. Thanks for the help!

Just some inventory tips:

• Use the right click to grab half of a stack of items. It comes in handy when you don't want to grab the whole thing or divide a stack easily.
• You can hold shift and left click to quickly send items from your hotbar to your inventory and vise versa. When using a chest, doing this will send items directly to and from the chest and inventory.
• Never have a ton of cobblestone or dirt. A couple of stacks is fine, but then it just starts clogging your inventory, especially when mining or crafting.

If you already knew this, the good for you!

Personally, E sucks to open inventory.

That. It's pretty much the standard way of changing items in your hotbar now.

Ended up losing track of where the hell my house was, then wondered around for 3 day spans on normal until I eventually commited suicide in order to find my way back to my literal treehouse.

Also, I finished a new skin for good ol' Steve. It's a cross between an enderman and Steve. :3

Also, if anyone has any tips on survival, it would really help!
