and i downloaded bukkit dev, so it's all good now.

I meant you can still use Bukkit in the update, not that Bukkit has updated to 1.2.4 (unless it has by the time I posted this message :P).

Just try it out. It's obvious not everything's going to work, but it does on most other servers.

It wouldn't. The server would have to update if that were the case.

EDIT: What I'm trying to say is you can update the server and still use Bukkit 1.2.3.
