I'm sorry, Jeb, but that's something that needs to be implemented. The original-colored wooden slabs and stairs contrast so badly in many cases, it bugs me.

Here’s the development snapshot of week 16, 2012! This week’s list of changes is not as hidden as before:

Added a demo mode for non-premium users (won’t be available until we do a full update)
Added bonus chest option to create world screen
Added option to enable single-player commands to create world screen
Updated language files
Bug fixing and tweaks
Get the snapshot here:

Client: http://assets.minecraft.net/12w16a/minecraft.jar
Server: http://assets.minecraft.net/12w16a/minecraft_server.jar (or EXE)

Here’s the development snapshot of week 17, 2012! This week’s list of changes:

Added editable books
Wooden half slabs in four colors (and they act as wood instead of stone)
Bug fixing and tweaks, notably about entity collisions, “picking blocks” (creative mode), and chat
Some other, censored stuff
Get the snapshot here:

Client: http://assets.minecraft.net/12w17a/minecraft.jar
Server: http://assets.minecraft.net/12w17a/minecraft_server.jar (or EXE)

Important! This week’s snapshot is extra experimental!

This week we’ve started working on separating the server logic from the client. The purpose of this is both to make it easier for us to add features (since we don’t have to implement stuff “twice”), and also to make it possible for you to invite people to play on your local computer without setting up a server. In other words, more like how it works on Minecraft: Pocket Edition.

The work has not been completed yet, though, but a snapshot’s a snapshot. However, the game should still run fine, and we’ve also made some other tweaks:

More fixes to silk touch and block picking
Wooden tools work in furnaces
Villagers spawned from spawning eggs will get a random profession
Updated language files
Etc…
Get the snapshot here:

Client: http://assets.minecraft.net/12w18a/minecraft.zip* (See below!)
Server: http://assets.minecraft.net/12w18a/minecraft_server.jar (or EXE)

It’s time for the weekly snapshot. We are continuing on the work to separate the client from the server, and have fixed a bunch of stuff related to that transition. We’ve also,

Added cocoa plants to jungles
Added a “large biomes” world type
Added specific names for the different sandstone and smooth stone blocks
Get the snapshot here:

Client: http://assets.minecraft.net/12w19a/minecraft.zip* (See below!)
Server: http://assets.minecraft.net/12w19a/minecraft_server.jar (or EXE)
