Wouldn't it be cool if they added ocean temples and then there was a battle inside of one during a Mindcrack UHC?

I'd rather have a modular underwater castle type of thing akin to current strongholds and villages rather than a simple room or two like the desert and jungle temples we have. Someone at mojang (jeb or dinnerbone probably) stated that they aren't rushing 1.8, so it could easily turn into another adventure update. There's a lot of potential for this stuff. Still, I wish they could take the time to fix the bugs we already have. And if they're working on oceans now, can we please have the boat client/server desync bug fixed? >_>

I too would enjoy structures that actually have some kind of use- desert and jungle temples are fun the first time you encounter them, but you're sure as hell not gonna fall for that TNT trap twice. Nether fortresses on the other hand, I've never seen two that are the same, and it's great. I'd love to see the ♥♥♥♥ temples (as well as villages) overhauled in this update, even if it's just a graphical one in the case of the villages (making use of corner stairs, less bland sand villages, the interior of houses is actually lit up so there's not a day one zombie massacre).

The boat desync is what I really wanted to comment on, and it's going to be pretty hard to fix as it's not so much a technical issue as it is latency. It's been posted around that it's caused by the server prediction feature, if you continue moving in one direction a long time, the server will try to predict that and continue moving you in a straight line even if your client is lagging. Basically, you're seeing the laggy client version, but the server has predicted you being in another place (where you actually appear after relogging or leaving the boat), and this is the desync. Experimental evidence supports this, as more complex twists in a boat route generally result in greater desync distance, as does clientside lag; while straight boat routes typically have almost no desync.

So I guess I revise my comment, it would be pretty easy to fix, but this would make boats even more annoying to control, as you'd actively have to battle boat freezes and the like while server waits for client to catch up or vice versa. Alternately, they could just make boats not ♥♥♥♥ break, omg so progresive ven 4 best mojengstar 2032 pls

I wish that Notch would furnish the houses in villages. It just seems so... blank.

Notch hasn't been on the Minecraft development team since he left in what, 2012 or so? I don't think that villages are their highest priority at this point either. There are a lot of things that would be nice to have at this point. The dev team is pretty small, and it can't work on everything at once. The thing they've put off the most is refurbishing oceans, so that's been their greatest focus as of now.

Or you can use a video that's not uploaded by an ♥♥♥♥ who teases the new mob in the beginning but doesn't actually show it because he needs the views.

I personally like this guy a lot better. It's less of an explanation but more of his first impressions and experience with them, so you can see up-close what they do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Q5Ys0LY4Ng
