Okay, so I need some help opening my minecraft.jar.

Whenever I try to open it, it tells me it failed to load.


Here I am casually trying to open the jar file.


And here I am failing to open it.

I use .zip files, and it would be nice If I could know how to install WinRAR. From what I heard I need that to open the .jar, yet knowing me, I have no idea how to install it.

Install it, then make sure that WinRAR is the default program for opening .jar files.

yea,download winRAR
then go to minecraft.jar
right click and select open with...
select windows(skipable if only program)
select winRAR file archeiver and run
(also,never forget,delete META-INF so you wont have to later)

7Zip is antoher one you can use, it's a simple program that I tend to use. Either this or WinRAR works.
