No. I'm right.

Modding is more than just placing and dragging files.

The only difference between modding and hacking is hacking is used for malicious purposes. They are pretty much the same thing.

Why are we even taking about this? This fourm is about MC Ideas, not whether modding or hacking is the same or different! :|

Bros, start suggesting. I don't care who started it, it's the fault of others as well for continuing the conversation.

Awhile ago, I think Dinnerbone tweeted a picture of painted wood; I was looking forward to it if I recall. I'd still really like it. Perhaps the darkness would depend on what type of wood you paint.

No, Raz did. I asked what that other guy said and then he piped in.

Mojang should create an official Minecraft Server Plugin system, because as it is now, it takes Bukkit several weeks to come out with a new version of bukkit, and even longer still for all of the plugins to update to it.
Either that or open source the Minecraft server. It's not like you can play the game with only a server.

Most plugins do not need to be updated to the latest update to still work.

Source: I used outdated plugins a lot

How's about you don't pull the blame game and act mature when a mod tells you to knock it off? That would be real nice.

Jesus flipping Christ....Modding is hacking for a promotional purpose, you crack open the source, you tweak it, you use the tweaks to make a modification. Hence a mod. Mod=Modification. If you disagree you either do not know what you are talking about or you know for a fact there is more to it than that.

You also have no idea what hacking is if you are thinking viruses are a program used to hack. Viruses ARE the hack. They are malicious pieces of script and terms used to digitally alter the PC for a purpose that hinders the user's progress on various projects. Command Prompt is not a hacking device. Hackers use Notepad to design and script the code, and save it as any filetype for the user to use. I downloaded a cracked CS6 of Photoshop that turned out to be a lingering trace of Conficker C from '08. And it wasn't made in Command Prompt. It was in Notepad, and bore the same logo as Photoshop did, making it very very convincing.(And don't bring up the illegal ♥♥♥♥ since we all know everyone here has been a pirate at some point in their lives, be it getting music off Youtube or downloading ROMs. Yes, ROMs are illegal, kiddos.)

I understand you like to think you do know something about all of this. Believe me, I do. I was like this when I was 11. But having a big head and acting as a know-it-all when you have no evidence to back yourself up and when you are clearly wrong on a lot of points doesn't make you look impressionable, it makes you look like an annoyance. I'm not being rude, I'm not being mean. I'm speaking the truth from experience, a brother to a brother.

Anywho, moving on...and hopefully I don't pimpslap the ♥♥♥♥ out of the next person to carry on this argument, because I will when I ever meet them in person...hard...

Colored cobble. Being able to color bricks would be amazing, because stained stone is easier to find than travelling all over the place for cobble, especially when cobble is a lot less rare as clay is.

I've also played a bit with Mo' Creatures and the Koi mod, and fish would be an excellent addition to the game. Also, MAtmos did a great job at bringing a better sound atmosphere to the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4Zu4kvyDHU

If needed, birds could be added to make the sounds more legit, and with birds, all they do is drop feathers, as they are too small.

I also wish there be a system added where depending on how high you fall makes an impact on your speed, mobility, and regeneration. Like falling into a ravine will kill you armorless, but in armor, it knocks you out for 1/8 of the day, if not more. You would wake up with a dizzyness effect, and chances are you'd limp a while, would move extremely slow, etc, because you probably broke some bones, are sore, and have head trauma. Makes the game a lot more realistic, even if Minecraft doesn't mimic realism.

Fish actually have been added, I think there's three new types being added with 1.7. As for your final suggestion, that would be absolutely terrible in multiplayer. Everyone else is building stuff and mining while you're just sitting at the bottom of a ravine, unable to move for five minutes.

As for my suggestions, I would enjoy a Nether upgrade. A nether-specific tree that drops glowstone like regular oaks drop apples, or maybe an entirely new item. Cursed Apple, anyone? Would be used with a wither skeleton skull to make a withering potion, maybe, or if eaten inflicts withering debuff to the player for a couple seconds. Would heal 5 hunger bars, though. This would bring a new kind of leaf and wood, I'm thinking vivid orange leaves and a dark maroon type wood, which could craft into fireproof purple-tinged planks. More block types, too. Add a sub-layer of a harder material a couple blocks underneath layers of netherrack, like how stone generates under dirt in the overworld. Obsidian dungeons that spawn various nether enemies like blazes and magma slimes, and make pigmen aggro on players who try to go mining nether quartz. After FTB's nether I am painfully disappointed with how plain and boring vanilla is.
