Minecraft Suggestions

String can now be made into wool, so I had a theory.

What about rope?

2x3 string gives you one rope, and the rope counts as a single block. If you want it to extend more blocks, you have to make more rope.
Keep in mind, the rope cannot be added onto rope, the rope is a single thing. So if you have 15 rope, and 3 rope placed, you have to break the 3 rope and then use the 18 rope at once.

This will be for things like cliffs you need to get down, and can also be used to tie minecarts together, or even a boat to a fencepost. Add an arrow to the rope to make a "rope and hook" for things like mountain climbing, and the hook will be thrown as high as the rope reaches. If it extends as high as the rope is and doesn't tether, it comes down, and has the same effect as a falling arrow: move yo ♥♥♥

A rope can also be used to slowly lower yourself into a ravine, if you place it where the chestplate/leggings go. Sort of like a belt. Make sure you are using the "rope and hook".Then just right-click the block at the end of the ledge, and walk off. Once you fall off, press shift, and you'll hang suspended. Then press Ctrl to gradually descend. However, you cannot walk with the rope tied to you, so this will have to be worked out a bit.

This was more or less a theory in motion, though.

If it were an enchant, how many levels would it take? Are we just going to have an Explosive Arrow I or make it larger, like up to IV?

How about a troll-like mob? There will be 4 types. Baby Troll (1/2 HP of player), Troll (same HP as player), Evolved Troll (15 Hearts), and Mega Troll (Twice as much HP as player). Maybe it can only spawn in the that thick forest biome with large spruce and mushroom trees. It can mine and pick up items, put on armor, and craft items (if crafting table is nearby). A normal Troll and Baby Troll will be passive, until you hit it (like wolves and Zombie Pigmen). A baby troll will look like a baby villager, but with green skin, wear nothing but a diaper, and walk on all 4s. It may summon a stronger troll if threatened. Babies can not do anything, they can be tamed with milk buckets, and once tamed can be ridable (like a pig). Trolls will drop random items and Troll Gut. Troll gut, put 3 in a row in a crafting table will make string (like a sinew string).

I think they should adjust View Bobbing a bit or add another setting for it. IRL your sight doesn't bob like that (or if it does you don't notice it), but with it off your arm becomes stiff as a damn board, like you're just floating or you're a zombie. Take for example TF2; TF2 does view bobbing right. Minecraft should either fix their bobbing on to be like TF2 or have a setting where your view itself doesn't bob, but your arm/item does. Perhaps Full, Half, and Off instead of On and Off?

Also, I'm curious: Do you guys have your bobbing on or off?

I have it on because I don't see a difference whether it's on or off

If any of you guys use a Field of View less than Quake Pro, I'd give this article a read. This guy pretty much explains the advantages of having FoV on Quake Pro: http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/why-i-use-high-fov/

I don't see the point in trying to change the way people view the game. I prefer my FOV and don't care if the quake FOV makes the game better at all.

I'm in Raz's boat on this one. I honestly don't care if I get to see more on the sides of the screen, since it looks so disorienting to me.

it's not for aesthetics, it's for the ability to take in more with your peripheral vision

have you ever seen competitive FPS players? Their FoVs are up real high in order to get good peripheral view and be able to catch things at the edge of their vision

the phrase "out of the corner of your eye" is applicable here

I can't make you guys change if you're that determined to stay at normal, I just wanted to point out why it's beneficial to use Quake Pro. If it looks disorienting, try increasing your field of view a little bit (say about 5-10) every time you play; don't try to jump straight to Quake Pro.

Then again, having a lower FoV benefits the people with higher, since then lower people can't see as much. :P

I don't want to be a competitive FPS player though. And even if I have a lower FOV, I'm still as much of a pain to quake pro people. I'm always looking around when I'm playing anything that involves survival.
