I made a portal out of VANILLA items.
(ive also made a fireworks show, that makes it day when it ends and night when it begins)
Not to many ppl know how to do this
i make mine look nice and in a portal shape,but ill show you a basic version

Also,To Get It To Teleport,/tp @p [x] [z] [y]
You Can Also Make It Do More Like /Time Set [ENTER TIME] Or /Msg @A Someone Has Triggered "----"'s Locked Chest!,command blocks execute their command when powered with redstone,so use this trick with locked chests (Locked Chests Are In Latest SnapShot)
Also,@p Targets Nearest Player,@a Targets All Players & @r Targets A Random Player,so On a server with /kill,activate to kill a random player

Everyone knows what a command block is. 90% of servers use command blocks somewhere, whether it be a auto-day thing or a teleporter or what.

Fireworks are also incredibly simple, as long as you know the recipes. You press a button or whatever and time sets to night with command block, fireworks go off, after last one is triggered, time is set to day.
