Redstone Comparator....sort of?

So, I was fiddling around with the /give command, and as I typed in /give Karyete 150, I got this:

Now, when hovered over, no text is displayed. However the name it gives me when it says 'given _ _ _ x1 to Karyete' is tile.comparator.name.

Was this an old item or something? I don't recognise the icon so I'm assuming it's an old version of the Redstone Comparator.

EDIT: Also, I find out typing 149 instead of 150 gives you the same item; however the icon isn't bright red, but dark red, implying it's off. The hell?

Those are probably their block IDs opposed to their item ID. Like how there are 'blocks' for the stages of wheat growth, but the actual item is a seed.

Oh, and by the way, when placed the item does appear as something similar to a redstone comparator. One is always off, and the other is always on. So according to what you said, Nin, that's probably the item's status IDs or soemthing.

The IDs 149 and 150 are the block form of the comparator, being required in order to actually have a placeable block.
