Can we do Direwolf +gregtech then, if everyone wants direwolf? (without changing IC2 recipes) Ooooh and +advanced machines. Or just ♥♥♥♥ ultimate, it has like 99% of what direwolf has and more.

My vote for Direwolf20, but maybe Ultimate when they fix a few more things. The Ultimate version seems to crash for me quite a bit.

Yeah, Ultimate is ridiculously full of crashes and lags like hell. I think gregtech+direwolf would be best, but that would be a private pack, and getting approval for it could take anywhere from a few days to weeks.
For now, I guess that means either direwolf, mindcrack, or another pack (but give reasons).

I guess for now let's do direwolf, and then when it's approved we just swap the map over to the private pack?

It would still take a while to get it approved, I don't even know how yet, that's just an estimate I got from reddit. In the meantime, though, as soon as we decide on a pack I can get the server up.
So I figured out how. Yeah.... I really don't think it's worth it, unless one of you brave people wants to go ahead and do it. Direwolf it is, then.

Ultimate is a possibility, but from what I've seen in singleplayer nobody would be able to connect and actually move without a godlike computer.
In other news, seems direwolf is being uncooperative. It tends to shut down randomly for no obvious reasons, so we may need to end up switching packs.
