The stall/path layout is too rigid and blocky- we should redo it.

EDIT2: Sorry guys. I guess I won't be getting on at all. My school laptop of course won't let me play it unless maybe I downloaded it on it's C drive which access to it is disallowed, and I might get in trouble if they found out; and my XP computer is a piece of ♥♥♥♥ and not letting me do anything Java related at all.

Run it off a pen drive.

As for XP, as long as your settings support the graphics, it's fine. You're a bit out of date, but otherwise okay. Simple fix, really, just update Java and tweak /PATH/

It won't let me update Java either. Not even open the installer or anything.

you should probably start thinking about upgrading to at least windows 7 and maybe getting your PC more RAM.

Yeah, maybe. By upgrading, do I need to get a new computer or is there a way to do that to the XP?

It is time for us as a group to choose the future of our most valuable minecraft server. Will we allow the server to become more advanced and popular than ever before, or will we leave it as it is with at most 5 people playing? What's that? Nobody cares? Awww. What a shame. Oh well, at least we will be one step closer to becoming a proper server, even if the server has no plugins.

You're probably wondering what this is all about. Recently, me, ven, bam, shade, nin and a few others have been discussing the creation of new, customised villagers within the server to trade various useless products (like rotten flesh) into emeralds. What's the difference between these and normal villagers? These ones have customised trades, which means we can let them trade for different items like cobble. Another reason this was suggested is because of the 'locked villagers' issue, which takes place when all of a single villagers trades become locked, with a few exceptions, disabling any trading at all. This created the need for a constant supply of regular villagers. With custom villagers, the trades can be set to not get locked for a very, very long amount of time so this will never become an issue. Most of the group decided that these new villagers are a good idea for things such as making gliders unbreakable and that they would save time now that op's didn't constantly have to deal with this. I, however, decided to take this idea one step further and create an entire market of villagers that buy and sell everything from food, to wood, to obsidian, to mine-carts, to potions. Every key item in the game will be tradeable in one way or another. Bam made the suggestion that some people may be against that idea or may want some changes, so the group came up with a few different versions of this idea that are more balanced than the original. We wan't to know which one everyone who cares about the server thinks is best, so we've created (or are about to create) a poll full of all the different things we could do with this. The list is available here too:



Option 1: The Original. The villagers will be added to the planned market immediately and the value of a single emerald will remain the same as it currently is with normal villagers.

Option 2: Price Increase. The Villagers will be added to the market immediately, however, value of a single emerald will increase by around 30-40%, meaning it is harder to earn emeralds to trade with.

Option 3: Gotta Cure 'em All. The villagers will be added over time. Every time we cure a zombie villager, we will kill it shortly after it is cured and we will add a custom villager to the market. The person who fed the zombie a golden apple gets to choose which one we add.

Option 4: Sacrifice. The villagers are added over time. Each time a player desires to add a villager to the market, they must sacrifice an item or multiple items that the desired villager trades (may or may not allow emeralds as a sacrifice). A single OP will decide what is an appropriate sacrifice and what is not.

Option 5: THAT'S CHEATING! No custom villagers will ever be added to the server. The marketplace will be removed and forest will be replanted as it was before.

Option 6: ???. An empty option that basically you can use as your own idea. if you choose this option you must explain in this topic what your idea involves. If it's too similar to the above options then your vote will be added to the option it is the same as.

Option 7: Don't care. If you really don't care about the server or what happens with it, this is the option for you. If everyone chooses this, then option one will be used as a default.



Of course if you choose ??? you are making your own variation of what we could do about the villagers.

You could probably install a newer operating system on your older hardware, but XP came out like... 2001? It's gotta be getting up there in age. Quite apart from being very outdated, hardware failure is also a significant issue with age. It's probably a better move overall to drop a couple hundred on a new hardware and a new OS, than it is to buy a new OS for your current system, have a part fail, and then have to replace the hardware and OS anyway.

I think we should combine the price increase and the gotta cure 'em all. When I say combine, I mean the villagers aren't added immediately. We have tonget them, then we replace them but they also have increased prices .There should also be a couple easier ways to get the emeralds, but not so easy that it makes the price increase useless. The reason I want to combine is because I like both ideas and I don't want my villager breeder to be obsolete. Plus, since it's an automatic breeder, it shouldn't be too difficult to get villagers.

Also, instead of only curing, could we also use a villager breeder, then kill the villagers produced by it and replace them with custom ones?

sure brawler. You might have to double check with ven but I'm pretty sure breeding counts as well.
Also, you may have to wait until they grow up to completely qualify them for it.

And, here's an update on the villiagers. I've created a few of them that sell particular products and I want to know what you guys think of them. Are the trades fair? Should more/different trades exist? Please note that the current cost in emeralds for items will be increased later if the increased prices option is chosen.
