Runouw Minecraft Server

Thoughts on the marketplace at spawn?

The stall/path layout is too rigid and blocky- we should redo it.

Happy Holidays from Voormith Corp. CEO, Bryce Mueller!

With the December holidays approaching, I decided to spread a bit of holiday cheer across the server. I've given out Christmas countdown calendars to all of the active members of the server. (currently Bowser, Raider, Nin, Brawler, and Ven. I'll hand out more if someone else joins.) Every day I'll be adding new holiday themed goodies to the calendar, so be sure to check them every day. In addition, the server spawn has been decorated to match the season. A Christmas tree has been built by yours truly, as well as a little market that will be selling limited time items.

P.S. Bowser, both Ven and I have a few concerns about the custom villager trading. We'll discuss it when all three of us are online.

AAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD the results are in! the winner is... *drumroll*
GOTTA CURE 'EM ALL with an amazing 5 votes! That's the same amount of people that didn't care! What an amazing victory! The system will start to take effect soon after the following happens:

-I get off my ♥♥♥ and make the codes for the villagers
-nin does some finishing touches on the marketplace
-ven and I do some terrain modifying to make space for the pathways.
Eyyy look at my new avatar. It even has terrible image quality!

I think I'll be at my grandparents this afternoon, and they have a much better computer; so I might join in for a bit.

EDIT: ...or not

Just giving everyone a fair warning so you don't do the same as I did. Potion arrows no longer work on infinity bows they are one time uses no matter what

I was thinking that we should make the market place less ugly and more interesting than rows upon rows of stalls. I was thinking we should have a river and bridge and stuff since there is a river biome running through the market.

Anyways I was hoping we could get a poll up:

Option 1: Keep the market place as it is.

Option 2: change the market place to have some more features (Like mention, a river+bridge).

I'm working on terraforming the coast, so that will give us more space and look a lot nicer too. As for the river, I could do that in about 40 minutes (and get some much needed dirt, too, filling in half an ocean is an incredible resource drain) but it would almost definitely require the re-arrangement of market stalls. I think less organized rows would look awesome but at the same time, I really don't want to rebuild the stalls and move the villagers, that's work I just don't want to do lmao.

Not really its like 20 blocks max. what I was thinking was taking everything down and put a river that spans the entire market where the river biome is.

To add to the list of massive projects...

Right now, I'm slowly mining out space for a massive library. The courtyard alone took like a week on and off, but now I need to do the actual library interior.

numbers: show
I was curious, so I made an approximation based on what I dug out already and a rough blueprint I made:

The foyer I've dug out will end up being 30 blocks wide, and the irregular shaped first floor will be roughly 3x that wide and 2x that long. To match up with the slight overhang above it with a currently empty pathway, the stairs to the second floor would reach up about 6 blocks.

So that's approximately 60x90x6, or 32400 blocks. an unenchanted diamond pickaxe is good for 1562 uses, and I want 3 floors. That's just short of 100k blocks.

That means that it takes roughly 64 unenchanted pickaxes to simply carve out the thing, probably a few more even, because I don't think 6 tall per floor is what I'll settle with. Without enchants, that means the build is probably worth 3 stacks of diamonds, plus extra because of time spent.

With unbreaking, which grants roughly 4x pickaxe life, it brings that down to 16 pickaxes, which is still a lot though.

After that, I still have to fill it with bookshelves and ornament the entire thing, which means tons of reed and cow farming.

No, I won't use the fill command (shot completely unintentional).

tl;dr I think I'll need a bit of assistance with this for the sake of my sanity. I'm thinking we could fight a wither first and get some haste II going. Maybe start up the cow slaughtering again and a temporary mega-reed farm.
