Worldpainter Collaboration

Rivers are sub-biomes. What kind of war is it when one group controls all water? And jungles are under fire. Please re-read all these posts.

Herp derp, I meant swamps, not jungles. I guess I was looking at Kary's post.

Omega things. One guild starts on the tail end of each assuming 4 guilds. Thinking 2 major wars between guilds (e.g. fire v water on one continent, earth vs. air on the other), but fire + earth and water + air would be really close, almost forcing each pair into some form of alliance/truce. Meanwhile, the diagonals are obviously incredibly far apart. The "tails" could be squeezed inward, making all of the guilds close, but the disputed territory would have much less point, and it would make 2 lakes. Islands could be added wherever for biomes or special structures or whatever.

Maybe an extreme hills +/dark forest/tiaga intersection just for me <3 but I'm not too picky.

I think what would be nice is maybe have one mountain that's just super tall. I'm thinking like a Throat of the World sort of thing if you catch my drift.

No joke that's what I thought it was at first last night. Our connection will never fade away.

We talked a lot about the new map last and mentioned stuff like natural wonders, more disruptive terrain, etc.

The shape takes priority though.

I like the overlapping C design most and refined a map out of it back home. I'll post it later tonight and elaborate.

I also liked the elemental guilds idea since it means people have to fight over resources, especially if the map is indeed going to be 2500 m2.

If we do use the elemental guilds idea, Purity is indeed water, and we use the lists on the previous page, I request swamps to be added to water.

I do like the concept of competition over resources but, being the pacifist I am, I have the small hope we can just trade relatively peacefully with each other rather than fighting each other over them. That's probably not going to happen though.

1. we're not having the same guilds, and most likely not same characters either
2. If I'm one of the guilds that has a biome with a special type of wood in it, I will not sell the saplings. Instead I'll sell the logs in bulk. If I see anyone with say, dark oak logs if i'm the earth guild, they're going to die because they didn't buy the logs from me. The point is, trading peacefully is boring and doesn't have much roleplaying to it and I'd prefer fighting or trading with some conditions to it.

I'd like swamps to be moved to water, and jungle to be moved to earth. Water has a very limited selection of biomes from the look of things (as well as being difficult to work with, building in an ocean? Not much fun, but very frustrating) and fire has kindof a lot of "rare" resources (stained clay, jungle wood/cocoa) whereas earth really only has the flower forest going for it. And that's not even very much of a necessity.

I'm leaning toward the gear shaped map, though, as long as there's scattered largish lakes throughout the continent and islands in the central ocean.

What's so good about the gear shaped map? I personally dislike it, probably more than any of them. I like having two continents and two guilds on each.
