The only problem I had with sailing is that the Great Sea seemed rather empty. Sure, there were at least one island in all of the squares of the map (correct me if I'm wrong), but what I mean is that there's not that many dangers for you to fight against more constantly. You just seemed to sail straight towards a destination, though it does take out a lot of that time when you get the Ballad of Gales.

I loved the sailing, especially when it went dark, rained or that one part of the game after dungeon 2.

Yeah you know which part I mean.
I'm Pretty sure I should put something here...

Oranjuice wrote:Sticker Star WAS good, stop hating on it because just it's a huge aberration from Nintendo's typical RPGs. The best part about it IMO was the music, this time it really captured the feel of everything. SPM had some great music as well, but this time it was a much more fun-loving, jazzy theme than a mystical and somewhat somber theme.

Back on topic: I don't know anything about Zelda but I've heard really really really really good things about it and I should probably get into the series at one point. Would this be a good place to start?

EDITcausedontfeellikepostingagain: I actually do have Twilight Princess, but I never really got into it. I should probably try that one out before anything else too quickly.
EDIT2: Just realized I have the ORIGINAL OoT as well, but controllers for the N64 don't work :/

SS had no story at all. The stickers were good and all but the levels lacked the good imagination from the other games. What I mean is that the levels needed more npcs that aren't toads or some story is needed for the levels. Almost all the NPCs are toads.

And i'm hating it because I was expecting so much from it a couple of years ago (due to what happened with spm) So I find it really depressing that the game was below my expectations.

Also sailing in wind waker is underrated.

So it goes back to it's roots with an original twist, and it's bad because:
Nearly every NPC is a Toad: So what? And that's not true, NPC means non-playable-character, so enemies or NPCs aswell.
No Story: Neither did the original Paper Mario, really. That was, "Bowser is invincible, get all the Star Spirits so you can beat him.". Considering that he needs the Stars to get into the flying castle, it would have been fine if Bowser wasn't invincible, and that was the plot point.
Below Expectations: Skyward Sword was under mine, and that was still a great game. And isn't it ironic that they both have the initials SS?

Now that I've mentioned Zelda, I felt it necessary to say that the sailing is indeed hated by some, but the music and the overall feeling of adventure just fixes it right up. And it's not that boring either.

Well yeah but PM 64 had better places to explore. And those places all had some type of story. The only time SS had a story was world 3 with wiggler. You see if they made all the worlds like world 3 I would've liked the game more. I was actually wanting to know where the poison came from and plus, it had that wonderful quiz show. However the other worlds had little to know story at all:
World 1- Defeat the Goombas
World 2- Gather 3 Relic Stickers
World 4- ... None. Except for Enigmansion.
World 5- None at all.
World 6- Fight final boss.

Also is flying in skyward sword supposed to be similar to sailing in wind waker?

So I take it that 99% of the Zelda games have a form of this repetitive "sailing" in them (whether it's on a boat, train, or in the sky)?

This should be interesting. /mostimpatientguyintheworld
