Chrono Trigger

Postby Zunar » February 12th, 2013, 7:52 pm

Chrono Trigger really needs no introduction. It's one of the greatest SNES games. If you've never heard of it, go look it up.

I've been really into recently. I bought myself a copy of the DS version a while back, and I've played it a ton. The only thing I dislike about the DS version is the Classic mode's battle font. Seriously, why does that have to be so tiny?! I love using the Classic mode, but the font just kills it. Seriously, just look for yourself:

Come on, that's too small. Reminds me of the god-awful menu font in Final Fantasy 4 Advance, only worse. They could have easily used the regular font used for text, that would've worked fine.

Well, at least it's not worse than the font of the naming screen in Secret of Mana...

I've heard a billion good things about Chrono Trigger, and I have it for SNES, but I've never played it for...some reason. I should really go do that.

I got my sister Chrono Trigger DS for her birthday, but then she lost her DS. -_-

Yeah, but you only see that font three times in the whole game. You see the Classic font pretty much the whole game, unless you use DS mode.

Yeah, you definitely should. I don't have a SNES copy, but I have emulated it before, and it's pretty cool. The font is definitely more readable, and the battle windows and such look much better.

Dang, that sucks. I still have my GBA SP from when I first bought it, so I really don't have issues with losing my old systems. :P

I'm playing through the game too...

Are there any sidequests though and can the future change depending on what you do in the past?

There are (at last count) approximately 2.3 bajillion sidequests. I counted. As for changing the future based on the past, that's a pretty big part of the plot. However, I will say that if you open a chest in the past that exists in the future it will be empty in the future, but if you open it in the future you can go into the past and open it again without causing a time paradox.
