I'm too much of a perfectionist to leave any room unchecked on any mission :(

What game should I get next? Professor Layton or Animal Crossing?

I haven't played Layton but I can say without a doubt Animal Crossing is very fun. Even the critics rate it higher than any of its predecessors.

I've never played any of the Animal Crossing games so I might consider getting it.

Then again I'm also considering getting Resident Evil Revelations. I played the demo for it and I actually kinda like it. Usually I have a bias against M-rated games like Resident Evil for being too violent and gorey and stuff since I'm not that into games like that, but Revelations looked interesting.

Professor Layton of any kind is amazing but from what I've heard Animal Crossing is even more amazing.

Lemme make some recommendations that you probably don't need anymore :3

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon: I saved up all my birthday and Christmas money for this game. Got it the day it came out. Never took it out of my 3DS.....

Mario Kart 7: I recommend if you have a little spare money to get the 3DS XL bundle that comes with MK7 in it. Well, only if you still lack a 3DS. Online is rly fun and I love the kart customization.

Fire Emblem Awakening: I don't have it, know anything about it, want it. But everyone else wants to make love to it and..... nevermind

New Super Mario Bros. 2: HOW HASN'T ANYONE MENTIONED THIS GAME. IT MAY HAVE NOT ENOUGH NEW STUFF BUT, IT DOES HAVE ENOUGH NEW STUFF JERKS!

LoZ: OoT 3D: It's an over average classic non-Mario game.
Go visit The Lost Dimension: Series Page and give it some love.

Also, Mario and Luigi Dream Team. I recently got it and it's definitely worth it. I would daresay it's as good as Bowser's Inside Story, if not better. The soundtrack is great, just listen to these: Battle Theme Boss Battle

>all obvious big name games
>no mention of lesser known games

Why?

DS:

Megaman Zero Collection
Pheonix Wright series
Castlevania series (Dawn of Souls particularly)
Metroid Prime Hunters
Final Fantasy 3
Dragon Quest series
And of course the mighty Pokemon
Might as well mention Rune Factory too. It's pretty much Harvest Moon but in a fantasy setting with action elements.

3DS:

Etrian Odyssey IV
Kingdom Hearts DDD
BIT.TRIP Saga
Resident Evil Revelations (unless you can get the console or PC versions)

I just don't think recommendation threads should mention the big names countless times since they are obviously good. Rather we should be mentioning the hidden gems that maybe the asker hasn't heard about. Gems I honestly with I had more of myself.

Which reminds me I should mention some download only games too.

3DS:
Mutant Mudds
Crashmo and Pushmo
Dillon's Rolling Western
VVVVVV
Mighty Switch Force
Gunman Clive

GBC:
Super Mario Land 1&2
Legend of Zelda series

NES:
Megaman Series
Of course Super Mario Bros.
Legend of Zelda
Castlevania
Punch Out
Ghost and Goblins

Re: 3DS recommendations

I actually found quite a few of the above mentioned really good games (and those mentioned as bad games a bit disappointing), but those not mentioned, preferably Tetris Axis (LOTS of gameplay content) and SM3D Land are pretty fun. As for DS games, Kirby's Mass Attack is one of the stronger Kirby games I've seen and played, actually. Yes, the final boss is a joke, but otherwise it's a really, really well thought out game. I think the minigames are the best aspect of it too, still gives me lots of entertainment. :3

Other great DS games include NSMB (if you haven't played it yet), Kirby Squeak Squad, and... oh dear, I don't have my pile of DS games with me. Can't list as many :c

As for NES titles on 3DS, the only one I have is Kirby's Adventure, but it's also kept me entertained. Still fun and challenging to play through, as well as having a casual aspect to it.

In short, buy every single Kirby game in existence- *is shot*
Expect something cool here soon!
