Mario Party: Island Tour

Postby Harmless » December 16th, 2013, 3:15 pm

So far, it's been a pretty awesome game. I got it today, and been having lots of fun with it.

It loses the Coin and Star count system, however, and instead focuses more on Wii Party's Board Game Island gameplay aspects (which are to roll dice, win minigames, and reach the finish on a board as opposed to just getting stars), although I do believe there's one map where you do have to collect stars. But I haven't played that one yet.

Er... talk about it, I suppose.

Holy ♥♥♥♥.

Even on Easy computers I get a run for my money because I tend to get the ♥♥♥♥ luck sometimes. But still incredibly addicting.

I love how they gauge boards based on luck and skill, I feel like I'm not playing the same thing over again, and man is it fun.

Not gonna buy it, this game is way too much like the luck-abusing from the Wii Party series. I don't mind a run-to-the-finish-line formula like what MP9 was close to, but PLEASE, dont make pure luck be the determinant factor for crossing the finish line. That's just drive me off because I know CPU will be a cheating ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Also, the single-player mode looks way too boring.
Don't worry, I won't explode in your face.

Surprisingly enough, there is one board that is not entirely luck-based... it happens to have a lot less luck involved. Kamek's Magic Carpet Ride.

But yeah, it does seem a bit annoying at times when luck becomes a primary factor. But man is it fun playing with friends.

Also, minigames. They actually developed some really fun and creative minigames. I'm happy.

I've played an hour or two of this game, and I can safely say that this is my least favourite Mario Party ever.

My only reason for it is: Luck.
So many minigames are based on luck, and like you said, only ONE board isn't luck involved.

(the ai also always chooses the luck-based minigames whenever it lands on a versus square which is annoying as butts)

That's interesting... they always choose the action ones against me. :c

But yeah, the luck can become a problem if there's too much of it. I think I'm going back to Mario Party 1. I'm missing Do'h I Missed already- *shot*

Oh my gawd. I can beat Master CPUs at Cheepers Keepers. :o.o: (Current record is 75. One of my best rounds was catching 27 Cheep Cheeps. :>)
But Cannonball! is a different story because rotation is harder than mashing for me. :/

I like this game, but it certainly isn't anywhere near the best from the MP series.

I'm really surprised at how much you guys like this seeing how some of my friends who have played it as well as critics don't like a majority of the game.
