Unless you've been living under a rock, you've most definitely heard about Nintendo's difficulties what with the Wii U falling massively short of its projected sales and Nintendo suffering quite a hit to its stocks.
This must've had any Nintendo fan worried for the future of the company, but Iwata just today gave a press conference to relieve those fears and talk about what it plans to do in the future.
It can be read here.
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/library ... index.htmlIt's quite worth the read, especially when you get to the part about Nintendo developing a system that's not a console, but something "non-wearable". Not exactly sure what it means by that. It talks about Nintendo wanting to focus on the health of its consumers, so with that you could probably assume it being something similar to the Kinect, but I really hope that isn't it. More details have been promised for later in 2014.
There's also other stuff, which I can sum up for you if you don't really want to read the entire thing like THE LAZY ♥♥♥ YOU ARE.
-the possibility of them releasing software of the Nintendo brand on smart devices to reach a bigger user base, although it's not made clear if they'd be willing to make Nintendo games for smart devices or simply something that gives a taste of Nintendo games to people without Nintendo consoles
-a new system where the more you play, buy, and share your experiences with other people of Nintendo games, you get specialized deals and can get games for cheaper
-them expanding the use of character IPs. Not very clear what this means, but what it could mean is more things like them out-sourcing first party games and getting stuff like Other M (WHICH WOULD BE BAD), or getting stuff like the Minish Cap, Four Swords, and Oracle Zelda games (which would be fantastic). This could also mean having Nintendo IPs in movies or other forms of media
It's not like I didn't sum up the entire thing in just my post, but what the hell. You guys can discuss if you so desire.
Just remember this, when you see her on the street.
I'm the cruelest girl you'll ever meet.
