I'll be speaking on maps based on overall map design (though modes will be mentioned too; note I've never played tower control before)
From least favorite to most favorite map
Moray Towers: ughughughugh, not really that fun considering how linear the map is. To make matters worse, chargers dominate the map very easily unless if a roller bypasses the enemy. It's very difficult to beat a good charger on this map, because there's not a lot of options to flank them with. On the bright side, I enjoy it more in Splat Zones considering there's two zones, and chargers end up dominating less due to the different objective.
Port Mackerel: It's actually alright, though the trucks in the level annoy me (and get me killed) from time to time. Also very narrow and hard to beat a good charger on this map (unless you get them out in the open). Good for rollouts though.
Camp Triggerfish: As it just came out, I've only played it a few times. From what I've played though, it does seem like the teams just go around in circles as opposed to confronting eachother. Most of the times I would confront less than 3 enemies on this map just because of how much of a circle this map can be.
Urchin Underpass: Meh, it's alright. It can get fun and trying to take the middle can get pretty hectic, but once a team takes the middle ground they're practically won. Those chokeholds are nasty.
Kelp Dome: It's a fun map, though the one-way pathways are a little eh. The middle is very wide too. Always felt like a smaller map to me, when in reality it's pretty big.
Bluefin Depot: The map's fun, it's got a good layout, and defending your base turf helps with the higher altitude. The split in the middle is a little eh though, but it's definitely one of my more favorite maps to place sprinklers on.
Arowana Mall: It gets hectic and fun in turf war, and very, VERY one-sided in splat zones.
Saltspray Rig: One of my more favorite maps, it's got a really neat layout you don't see in the other maps, having three middle grounds and the spawn being towards the bottom.
Walleye Warehouse: Lots of fun. It's open, it's got good cover at the same time, and there's a lot of ways to approach this map.
Blackbelly Skatepark: My favorite. It's perfect for CQC and the slopes throw an interesting twist and lots of ways to approach this map. Long range also helps on this map, but it's the map where I feel like the ranges are balanced the most. Splat zones is also a lot of fun on this map, surprisingly.
Expect something cool here soon!
