RULES
Basic Rules:
-Double Elimination Tourney. Best out of 3 for every round except grand finals, winners finals, and loser's finals, which will be best out of 5 games.

-2 stocks, 6 minutes on the timer, no items.

-If the time runs out, winner will be determined first by stocks, then by percentage.

Stages:

-There will be 5 neutral stages for game one.
-Battlefield
-Final Destination
-Yoshi's Island
-Arena Ferox
-Prism Tower

-Players will strike one of the stages they don't want to play on in this order: P1, P1, P2, P2. The remaining stage will be played on.

-For games two and three, there will be a counterpick system. EVERY STAGE IS ALLOWED AS A COUNTERPICK. The winner of game 1 will ban 5 stages he doesn't want to play on, then the loser will select the stage to play on for game 2. Same thing for game 3 (winner of game two bans, loser of game two picks).

-You cannot choose a stage you won on in the same set as a counterpick.

Character Selection:

-Character switches for game 2 and 3 will also be through counterpick. The winner of the previous game states his character switch or if he'll just stay the same character first, then the loser chooses their character.

-Both players must tell each other the character they'll be using at the beginning game 1. You may choose to go for a Double Blind Pick, meaning that you can decide not to tell your opponent your character, but you will also not know your opponent's character. This must be said before the set starts.


Others:
-Please don't use stalling tactics, exploits, or infinites.

-If your match is laggy, I'm sorry, but you'll have to suck it up. In the case that it's absolutely unplayable however, contact the TO (me) and we'll see what can be done.

As per popular vote, the tourney will be on 2/13 - 2/15, spanning the entire weekend. Please try and be here Friday at 1 PM EST so we can get things started off and perhaps most of the matches. However if you cannot be here, that's why it's a multiday tournament, and I expect all participants to be on throughout the weekend as much as it is possible for them.

Stock 3-4, Time Limit 5-8?

As far as I know I think the characters seem pretty balanced.

I haven't played any stages except for Battlefield yet due to still having the demo but FD isn't entirely bad. It could still be an option, just not a likely one.

If we can't decide on a stage we default to Battlefield maybe? (Non-FD form of course)

Are we allowing items? If so I suggest at least banning the Special Flag. At least because what it gives you is pretty OP I'd say.

I don't think we should. They're all really OP, but we can always allow random things like boxes or something.

4 stocks is definitely too much in this game seeing as how players last so long, 3 stocks would be good to start with with 8 minutes on the clock.

I really don't wanna sound like a fun-hating tourneyfag but let's be honest guys the lack of an item frequency switch pretty much kills any control we might've had over items so I think it's best to have them off. Or we could have several variations, like a no-items Tourney, an items Tourney, Doubles Tourney, etc.

I don't mind the S-Flag though. You gotta be real careful with that thing, use it at the wrong time and you're dead. It's kinda high risk high reward imo.

But then you still have no way against you defending the S-Flag when it spawns right before you die and the other person has more than enough time to use it after they kill you.

Several variants sounds nice.

Other than that, nothing barred please. Don't really think anyone here is going to get bent out of shape over item deaths, so it's not really a concern.
