I actually liked Dream Team. Sure the art style was probably my least favorite compared to past M&L games, but I thought it still had the same charm as the other games from what I felt. I just hope this new game turns out alright, because M&L hasn't had a major flop compared to what some people think of Paper Mario with Sticker Star.

I honestly thought Dream Team was pretty good, haven't finished it though.

Feeling the same about that.
(Only need to battle the final boss, and then a little more for 100% completion.)

I have played every single Paper Mario (Not in order, SPM, SS, PM, TTYD.) and its about time he's in another good RPG.
My only grudge with sticker star is that its a good game, not a good Paper Mario game. If they used some other franchise it MAY have been OK.
And WHY did Starlow have to return after playing such an insignificant roll in Dream Team (Which is in my top 10 favorite games once you get past the tutorials.) and was a very one sided character in it, we need Stuffwell!
Who I am probably the only one who liked Stuffwell...

Other than being a Star Sprite, Starlow is probably the most realistic character in the entire Mario franchise. She has a clear personality but more importantly she acts like a normal person would. She gets annoyed. She tries to be kind and helpful.
...That, and she's perfect for various other things, at least in Bowser's Inside Story. I have no doubt that she's the best sidekick for the Bros.

Bump because the game's almost out in all regions
From what I've seen, the game is super easy to those who have a New 3DS while owners of the regular 3DS don't get to make Character Cards (Without amiibo adapter) OR refill HP with ZR and ZL. In other words, the game's saying "Hey dude, you KNOW you want a New 3DS. We do too, get it and this'll be easy peasy." While that doesn't affect the chances of me buying the game, it may make me rate it lower.
And long tutorials are fixed, aside from a few that lag on just a teensy bit much, mostly with new mechanics though, so it's excusable.

That doesn't sound like good marketing to me...well, little or younger kids don't really care as long as they get to play. I guess that's what Nintendo is kinda thinking about.

It looks interesting, but I really hope it doesn't ruin a paper Mario game again like in sticker star. it looks like it may be a either a bad game or a very good game.

Welp, I finished the game today. While I can see why this game has gotten the reviews it has, I certainly still found the game to be a quite enjoyable experience.
Minor spoiler review: show As usual the gameplay and combat is really varied and every new enemy encounter and boss feels fresh and inspired, especially with Paper Mario along for the ride. I like the Bros. Moves they put into this (although a few are recycled) and like a lot of sites have said, they keep tutorials to a minimum in this one.
That being said, I'd say the weakest point of this game is its story. There's essentially no huge twists; it's your average Bowser-esque storyline. The other M&L games usually have some other antagonist entirely (if not a secondary antagonist to Bowser) and this one just seems really straightforward. It's not awful, per se, but besides the whole "Paper" aspect that's going on, it's not the most unique story either. When it comes to the humor...I'd say it's alright. Some say they find it weaker in this game than in previous entries, and maybe so. It might be a bit lacking in self-referential humor, but I still think there's enough enjoyable lines in the game to be worth it. Especially from Starlow.
Oh yeah, and there's also the Toad Quests that people don't like because you have to do like 30-40 of them and some of them are puzzles and others are hide and seek. Personally I didn't find it too aggravating (at least until towards the end when I did all the optional ones for 100%. There's 70 quests in all), but that's something to keep in mind if you really dislike tedious minigames.
But overall, I'd probably give it like a 7.5/10. If you enjoyed all the other M&L games, I'd still say you'll probably enjoy this one...although maybe not as much. But that just depends on whether you place more importance on the gameplay or story, and how much you dislike the Toad Quests.
Also, let's just take a second to praise Yoko Shimomura for her amazing work in composing the music for each and every M&L game. Always catchy and fits the right mood in game.
