Despite the merging of Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi, it doesn't look very interesting. Looks incredibly generic and generally not interesting. (like Dream Team )

Reminds me that I need to buy Dream Team. This looks awesome IMO, though the Craft Mario thing looks awfuly like the Mega-Luigi thing in Dream Team, which I don't know whether it'll be the exact same thing or what (I've not played Dream Team so I'm just judging by what I'm seeing).

The giant Luigi segments in DT were still turn-based. In this one, it looks like it is more action-oriented.

So I was just going around the internet and all of a sudden...
I see this! A crossover with Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi as
a RPG game?! At first I thought this was DLC, but no. It turns out
to be a real game! And they're using the same sprites from Dream
Team???

Oh, and Petey piranha is returning as a boss in this game.
Keep in mind that he was also in Sticker Star.

What do you guys have to say about this???
I'm just mostly confused. O-O

I'm actually really excited.

Have you controlled three characters before in a M&L game? Sure you've controlled four with the babies, but this honestly looks different. (though I'm missing paper luigi ; n ; )

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.

But still, I am still looking forward to this. I like how Paper Mario has different mechanics that focus on his papery-ness from what I've seen of the Nintendo Treehouse footage. It's nothing like the ones from the Paper Mario games though (except maybe how he jumps on enemies multiple times like he has the Power Jump badge equiped, but can only damage for as many Mario copies there are), but when it comes to the defensive options, I think it's for the better as the M&L games are known for dodging attacks rather than reducing damage.

A lot of people seem to think that this is the new Paper mario game... when the title clearly is Mario and Luigi. I've also heared many people recently say that Dream Team was meh. Any reason why? Because I got the impression that it was good, but whatever. I also wonder just how much of the Paper Mario series things they'll include. We know that Paper Mario has his abilities outside of battle, and inside of battle it seems like he has the star meter (like Paper Mario 1) and 3 sticker things? I think he can use them only when he has the star meter full, but he can also do normal battle commands. Or I could be totally wrong :P

Rant incoming: show
The big thing I have against Dream Team is that, for the most part, it lacks its own identity. It uses a lot of its time making throwbacks to the previous three entries instead of focusing on new characters and mechanics. This includes the giant Dreamy Luigi battles which play out almost exactly the same as the giant Bowser fights from BIS. And going on characters, there's barely any new ones to make note of, and most of them aren't very interesting to begin with (especially Antasma IMHO). In fact, a lot of the people on the island are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, which doesn't make me want to save their ♥♥♥ from Antasma and Bowser. The island is also incredibly basic in its geography, and the areas have little to no transition between them (besides the park-forest, park-castle, and maybe the park-beach ones), making them feel incredibly disjointed. The music wasn't all that memorable to be honest, some of them being so due to repetitiveness (like that desert area). Now that's not to say that I didn't like some of the music, as I like Dreamy Somnom Woods and Try, Try Again). Next, I noticed that I had a big problem with depth perception during battles and the like (even with 3D on), and since the game has Mario moving to dodge attacks sometimes, it can be a bit disorienting. It's a shame, too, as I like the game's art style, as it keeps the sprite-based characters (giant battles aside), but now they're in a 3D environment. However, the sprite work blends the two together rather well, and it's rather pleasing to look at. Finally, some of the battles also go on forever, most notably the dream battles, as only Mario gets a turn, and then all of the enemies attack, which being hordes of enemies, can sometimes take a long time.

With all of that said, I think this game is alright. I think that the writing, when it's not trying to be nostalgic, is very witty and fun, especially during character interactions. The Bros. Attacks were fun to use (with the exception of that one star attack which is pathetically easy to use), and they also seemed to work rather well, as I was surprised at how accurate the gyro controls are for them (but ♥♥♥♥ the gyro controls during Antasma's battle).

... Maybe I should post this in the ranting topic, too. :P
