Well, I have Conquest. I tried to side with the Hoshidans, but I couldn't unless I got the Birthright DLC. So basically, you have to side with whichever version you got, so unless I wanted to spend an extra 20 dollars, I had to side with Nohr. As my best friend put it, "You side with your wallet".
The story is a bit different based on the choice, and the quests and items you get I reckon.
And I assume when Revelation is released, the free option is to
not pick a side.
Not only do you make the choice of which family to side with, but you also make the decision of which game to get. I see what you're doing there Nintendo. Very clever.
