Is there an undo button in the Super Mario Maker Designer? Not sure if that was covered yet. Too many words.

IIRC, there is an undo button in SMM. I always think SM63 has one and then I get sad.

Holy ♥♥♥♥, I wish there was a topic called "Please die in a hole week ago me". Sorry for what I've wrote and how I wrote it, I could've done without many unnecesary jabs at you.

It's just that SMM was dished out with obvious creative constraints. When I went from SM63 and saw SMM, an official nintendo maker, from people who invented this ♥♥♥♥ I thought that they could throw together something trully beautiful. Even without all of the FLUDD stuff, Transforming Stars etc. NSMB series has a lot to work with, not to mention the other themes. And I ended up being disappointed that even stuff from NSMBWii was not utilised (like moving high platforms, spinning blocks, powerups). Such an obvious cash grab was praised to high heaven where I just couldn't see it as a step down not only from SM63, but the games themselves.

Of course the thing everyone was whining about was checkpoints. And yeah, that is a legitimate oversight, many many things are simply not a part of this creator for either of these reasons:

- They still want to make/want you to buy the NSMB series games and games from the other themes
- They wanted the ease of switching from one theme to another (In which case, I definitely see there being a better solution, like replacing said item with, say, a red box which informs you that such thing does not exist in this theme and you should probably delete it)

Again, I'm sorry for how I said everything with such an agressive attitude.

Also I was not aware of a constant FPS version of SM63. Neat

Zunar wrote:Konradix does make a lot of good points I think, but his point about SM63's FPS is a bit moot now because there is at least one (unofficial) version of the game which stabilizes the framerate. I know of one used for speedruns that can be found on http://www.speedrun.com/sm63

Also a con that was not mentioned is that SMM is on the WiiU and those cost money. SM63 does not.

If you use Cemu Wii U emulator and you download the game (SMM) from the Internet, you can play it by free. (If you have a fast computer.)

This topic is hella old but for my money I prefer SM63. Simply put, there are far fewer limits than there are for SMM, and while you can make great Mario platformers on SMM there are a hell of a lot more possibilities on SM63 and a lot of people here have been really artistic with it- harder to do with SMM.
