I MOTHER EFFIN' WANT METROID OTHER M!

Looks like I ain't gonna get it 'cause I won't have MONEY FOR QUITE A WHILE.

But besides that fact, I have another problem.

Should I buy a Metroid Prime Trilogy first? Or just get Other M? 'Cause I might not understand the game without playing the first 3 Primes.

What do you think?

Well, it's you decision - if you want massive 3D shooter experience, Trilogy. If you want Trilogy just because you get the story, in the following spoiler I sum up the story of all Metroid games, so you can enjoy Other M.

METROID (NES)
Samus is sent to a planet where a new life species was found - the Metroids. They are stolen by Space Pirates for evil stuff^TM. The Space Pirates go down, the Metroids survive.

METROID PRIME TRILOGY (GC, WII)
Prime (1): The Space Pirates are back somehow and use a substance called Phazon to do experiments on Metroids. Samus kills the head of the Phazon Metroids - Metroid Prime.
Prime 2 Echoes: Shortly before Metroid Prime died he made a copy of Samus out of Phazon. The real Samus has to alternate beetween the real world and a dark world to defeat Dark Samus.
Prime 3 Corruption: Samus defeats Dark Samus once more, destroying all the Phazon in the universe. Sadly, she triggers a Metroid epidemic while doing that.

METROID 2 (GAME BOY)
Samus is sent to destroy all the Metroids of the epedemic she triggered. Only one baby survives, and it thinks Samus is it's mother.

SUPER METROID (SUPER NES)
Scientists use the baby as energy resource, then it gets stolen. By the damn Space Pirates. In the final battle with Mother Brain, Samus is close to death, but the baby (now grown up) swoops in and sacrifices itself for Samus, and gives her it's power. Then Samus f***s up Mother Brain for good.

METROID OTHER M (WII)'s Intro Sequence is exactly the final battle of Super Metroid. And that's when the game begins.

I suggest Metroid Prime Trilogy. It's a great game and has so many improvements from the original 2 games. I haven't played Metroid Other M so I'm not sure how great the game is going to be, but I still think you should get Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Its kind of like a way to make the gamer think. They'll make us plug everything together. Then we get the satisfaction of figuring out the entire story ourselves.

..and they have ideas for a new game. When you have a timeline, you can do anything with it and usually you go forward. But, when you come up with other ideas, you can implement them in somewhere else so that you get a complete timeline.

They do the same thing with books sometimes, so yeah..

If you want to play them in chronological order, then get Other M, it takes place right after SM, however Trilogy is three games in one so, ya know, your decision.

phst! the Zelda series doesn't have a timeline, there just stories revolving around Zelda, the many reincarnations of link, and Ganon.

oh and I was reading Game Informer, and they gave Other M a 6.25. They didn't like the story, and said the first-person view was annoying.
