I've had quite some fun while playing most of the levels, which had just the right difficulty for me to be beaten quite comfortably, yet not without effort. For someone who hadn't seen the original versions at the previous NS settlement, the enjoyment would be even greater.
That cannot be said, however, without a few reservations.
The two stages prior to Dissonance, on their normal variations, which were too short next to their Hard counterparts (the latter not having undergone through any significant change) and even one or two levels before Strength.
Thanks to the extreme power-up systems that Null Space introduced, I can now remain faithful to my suicidal platforming style, a hit-and-run speedy mayhem. No opponent, however, after the power-ups were chosen and improved, seems to rival the protagonist's speed even without having intentionally farmed squares. That basically prevents most foes, slow, stationary or even trapped in narrow platforms, from actually being harmful. And thus, they can be simply taken down by sheer spell spamming. It's a bit disappointing to see even new or reworked enemies, such as the spark mage, which actually ought to look menacing, rarely being able to put up with such shallow strategies.
Lastly, I'm not sure whether it's just me being a cheap magic spam kid, but despite his massive HP stats, even the final boss was beaten too easily, on both modes, mostly due to these same issues. He certainly deserves a more powerful moveset.
Either that or I should have just named my character Madara from the start.
Nevertheless, thanks for everyone who worked on this game and allowed it to come this far. Above everything else, the lag fixes made the game rise and shine again, as it rightly deserves.
*applause*
