Well, I've only had the chance to play a portion of the first beta level and think that this is really pretty sweet. I will edit this with more suggestions as I get around to fooling around with this some more, but so far I have only one suggestion:

I used the space distort move to fit into this space here and made it in with just a 1 block space inside, but then I got stuck and couldn't get out through the hole again. (I did this earlier with no energy left so I couldn't use the move again.)

And I know this is Beta, but it might help Runouw out.

Though as Suyo pointed out, pressing X would have solved YB's problem, it turns out that even when there is no tile above you, you cannot fit into a one tile space one space above and to the right of you in any circumstances, which seems kind of silly; if the player can jump two or three tiles high, he should be able to jump one tile high. I recommend that you fix this.

Another Suggestion: Bladestorm! (You know the Last Skill of the Blademaster in WarCraft III?) Yes, it's like a spin attack with the sword. :awe:

You can't reach it because you hit your head on the tile above you. I also think this problem gets really annoying.
I guess I could fix it by adding ledge grabbing.

I have more suggestions:

  • Customizable Player
  • Mages As Enemies
  • Multiplayer (Seriously, is this possible? :\)

OK, I have now finished both beta levels and am truly impressed by them, especially the second one. Really very innovative design throughout. I didn't run into any bugs you're not already aware of. However, just a few other things I want to note.

1) I assume that you are already planning on doing this, but the beta levels are quite long (especially the first one). I hope that, as with SM63, you will insert checkpoints for respawning once death actually becomes part of the game. Could this additionally be an option in the Level Designer? (If it already is ignore that last part…I have yet to tackle the Level Designer, but just using a little foresight here).

2) What about a storyline? I imagine there will be more to this than just some random guy wearing a cape going through random stages beating up random people/rocks/mushrooms/crab-like things just for the hell of it. Have you been planning a story, and if so, can you perhaps give us some information about that?

This game is awesome!

Good things:
Music
The tiles can connect/blend

Bad things:
I can't do layers in the Designer/There's no wall tiles
I can't make a planet. The icon is grey.
You can't die from falling, lava or getting down to 0 HP
Lot's of items are counfusing and do nothing.
You can't post levels yet

I hope you make a better version of this awesome game!

FYI Yoshipizza, I would note the section of Runouw's first post listing things that are not yet complete…some of the things on your list (such as the dying thing) are already on there.

Also, somebody with the necessary powers want to update the News section of Runouw.com with this?

I just had a great idea! How about implementing something in the game that would change the normal ground into the background, and vice versa?

I spent the whole day not knowing this was released. FUUUUUUUUUU

First off, WONDERFUL MUSIC. Seriously, I can't get enough of that. I got quite bummed out when it didn't repeat, so do fix that! :awe:

Anyways, bug report: It seems that when you go upside down on the planets, you collection box doesn't follow the sprite (i.e. when you're upside down, the collection box is still right side up), making collecting coins a bit awkward.

LD BUG:
Im trying to make a castle level, and when I have done some basic ground, I add the castle background. When I do that, though, instead of staying the way I put it, the ground morphs with the background blocks. Is there anyway I can solve this, still being able to morph the blocks together, like you did?
