Please, do
NOT pointlessly bump topics.
Today I deleted a post like this:
Hey, I'm bumping the topic 2 1/2 months!
And don' post something like this in a solved topic which is 3 months old:
This can be locked now.
Just let the thread die.
If this continues, I'll discuss with the other staff if the rule should be reinforced.
Thank you for your attention.

I know EXACTLY what you mean, Suyo. Runouw thought that it doesn't hurt anybody to bump topics--which it doesn't--but people are abusing them like crazy. This is why we had the bump rule in the first place.

My problem is that in off-topic, it can be neccesary. Important topics can be forgotten, and after 2 weeks, you can get banned for bringing it to life.

I think bumping should be limited. Yes, people shouldn't bump on purpose. But with a very open topic, like some of the ones in Serious Discussion, where its all opinion, yes people should be allowed to bump if they want to voice their opinions.

Agreed. I think that the mods should use their judgement when it comes to bumps and decide what to do about them if anything. The validity of a bump does vary depending on the circumstances.

The old bumping rule had the exception "If you contribute something interesting/good".

No. You can never double post (unless you run out of room in your first post or something like that). If you have more to add, you must edit your post or delete your first post. That's the bumping rule only.
