Now if you all would like the official chat to come all the sooner, why don't we address the one issue that Runouw has brought to us about it: He doesn't know what it should look like. Let's talk about that, and maybe we won't have to put up with the backup as main much longer...

I personally like the current color scheme of the site, and I like the look of alternating background colors for each line, and though I like the avatar icon that the new chat has, it does make the line height of each entry a bit tall, making the task of keeping up with a fast moving chat harder (because it requires more scrolling), so I do not think that avis in chat is a good thing. Also, smilies are important.

I've always loved AJAX, but never ranted about Mibbit. Heck, that backup was fine. All I'm saying is my computer doesn't allow me to log in. It says my 'Username is invalid' or wutever, no matter what I try. So I'm stuck. With no chat. Heh heh, no....c-chat. N-n-n-n-n-.......

Insta-solution: Independant members make a new Mibbit room called #runouw1 or something. PM the link to everybody who isn't happy with the new one. BAM. Now people have a choice.

Sorry if that sounds rebellious, but if some people can't even get on the chat, they deserve the opportunity to at least socialize with everyone else who can't (or doesn't want to) as well.

And besides, it's pretty much like users here adding each other of Facebook. It's a non-official alternative, and I don't think anyone here has a problem with the Facebook situations.

EDIT: Should probably say this now for what it's worth... I personally think that if someone bothers making and alternate chat, it should be their right to elect mods/ops, not necessarily in coordinance with Runouw's staff members. Also, if this idea turns out to be really unpopular with the mods for some reason, it's not like the resistance members have to say anything to the public next time. Just putting that out there, secrets are great.

Again, I apologize for mutinizing here, I just strongly believe that people should have a choice- one that actually works for them.

You can use the chat without registering.

Also, keep in mind that, like Mibbit, Chatango isn't linked to runouw.com, which means you have to create an account in there. If you already did, then I don't know.
If it doesn't load, then that's another thing.


One last thing: If you "hate Chatango", "think it's ♥♥♥♥" or "want it to go to hell", then at least tell us why. Thank you~

I just want runouw chat to be back the way it was. I mean, yes i know to be patient, but surely [b]somebody[/s] is finding it even partially uncomforting on how we have to go to different websites to chat...
