Maybe a few styles to choose from?

Such as: Site default, Super Mario 63, BIT.TRIP, Pokemon, Sonic, Etc. Thats my idea. Then, everyone can choice the style they want the chat to appear in, but if it just takes up to much space, I think a site-related style art style works best...

Custom styles will also take much longer to make, so while a future possibility, let's try focusing on one style for now.

Could do it like Minecraft mods, like There's one default setting for the chat, and people can go off and piss with some ♥♥♥♥ coding they found in a junkyard make their own detailed things, maybe even trade with other peeps, all you have to do is get it so the chat can run off plug-inabble coding stuff, like minecraft

Honestly, I can't say I really care about designs, as long as we can ditch that terribleh chatango place as soon as possible. Windows popping up all over chat are... not so great.

Customness can come later, like, when we have a competent chat again.

As for the new chat's design, I really don't know what to say unless I saw what the current layout would be like. Assuming that's the old layout however the only thing I think should be added is a way to better tell who said what. Small avi's is fine but as Doram said it'd make each post larger making it harder to see in "level 50" chat, so if that's implemented you'd have to make it larger.

Fonts on the other hand would be better assuming it isn't hell to code. I don't think you should be able to change the font size of ALL your messages (obviously font size with BBCode should still be implemented) as it would have a similar effect to implementing avi's

As far as colors go the original will work and if it's really desired templates and things for say a SM63 or LL style chat can be implemented later.
