Not sure if I like this but whatever, as long as you can disable it in your levels.

wow, really like some of the new stuff!

Stuff I found in the vid that is new, for all the people that are too lazy to watch 2 minutes: show
New enemies (note that I just used a name I thought was fitting:
  • Wizards: These enemies have a red cloak, a red witch hat and shoot fireballs. Fireballs can be destroyed by hitting it with the sword.
  • Small Black Ghosts: Unlike their big counterparts these small ghosts seem to follow a set path and are even more black.

Inventory

In the Singleplayer campaign it's possible that enemies sometimes drop items that can be equipped to boost some stats, like jump height or EP. A set of different weapons exists too, including throwable axes (Hammer Bro. Suit everyone?) and a staff which creates fireballs.

Runouw plans on adding an item shop where the player can buy stuff.

New platforms

Ok maybe it's also possible to do this one in the LD already but the video shows two platforms, one with a yellow arrow pointing up and one with three blue arrows that boost the jump of the player.

Other stuff

Two new levels: A castle and a snow mountain.

The castle level features many of the small black ghosts and wizards, as well as a moving bookshelf (?), a set of red and blue switches with the same function as in the chapter 1 levels and moving platforms.

The snow level features the jump boost platforms, as well as rotating snow mountain octagons and small black ghosts.

A winter tree and some other kind of snow plant are visible in the new snow mountain level. The castle features a new background that looks a little bit like a checkerboard.

The winter level's background music is a new song, which seems to be a remix of the main overworld theme.

If you add some of the new things to the level editor, maybe you should make it like SM63 full version where you need to have beaten the game to use them in the editor menu. You could also do what Oranj suggested and keep them separate. Is this game going to have controller support? Perhaps you can add some form of customization to the basic items and just let the player make up some stuff. I don't think we'll need all of them, but a few wouldn't hurt. We can at least modify the basic sword even if you don't give us any sub-weapons. I'm also with Raz; if you can turn it off for the editor then it's all fair for the single player. Same goes for that health bar.

When you said that enemies will rarely drop items, did you imply that its going to be a random factor, or can it be set to specific enemies? If random, then that could possibly break some of the platforming/puzzles in the levels.

What LD versus campaign? What spoilers?

Wasn't there a discussion between the runouw brothers, if the fire mage is either shooting fire balls or uses fire throwers? I'm actually curious who convinced who in the end. : P

Other than that, it's looking pretty damn awesome, considering that it's pretty much a two-man-creation makes that even better.

What LD versus campaign? What spoilers?

The LD is the Level Designer. The campaign is the story levels. "Equippables in the LD versus campaign" means "equippables in the LD versus equippables in the campaign." Spoilers are important plot details that may ruin the story if they are told ahead of time. For example, if an item in the LD shows something that does not appear in the story levels until much later, that could be a spoiler.

As for equippables in the LD, I'd say put them in by all means, but don't make them random. Here's what I was thinking could be done if possible:
*Checkboxes in the level options menu determining which powerups the player starts with.
*Every powerup in the game as either one item or separate items so that they can be placed normally throughout the level.
*A "spawn item" trigger command that creates an item at coordinates specified by the designer, or "this item's position" for enemies. This might not be something easily programmable, but I don't know because I'm not a good programmer.
These should allow the designer to control what and when powerups are given to the player, avoiding any possibility of breaking the level.

As for throwing items with the keyboard...I don't have anything for that. I'm not particularly looking forward to controlling the game with two parts of the keyboard and the mouse, though. Other than that, everything looks fantastic and you should keep up the good work.

No,I meant to ask what's the spoiler. And what's the 'small flaw' in SM63?

While it should have been obvious, the LD spoiled the Silver Stars, Red Coins, all three versions of the FLUDD, currently also spoils Thwomp, the powerup stars, water, and some other things. This does use SM64 and SMS as base, so most of this shouldn't be too surprising, but it's a spoiler nonetheless.

Actually,I like spoilers a lot. It makes me feel like 'Wow,this game has more to it than I thought! This game's certainly going to be a blast!"

Sorry,I don't have much common sense as I know it,but I'm probably better at understanding user's posts who are not that fluent in English. {no offence}

So,Runouw, when are you going to update those? I hope it's soon.
