Alright, clarification time. There's no immediate need for new staff, but Suyo was a huge loss. To be honest, we still don't really know how to account for his absence. There will almost certainly be some promotions in the future to help update the code side of the site, but the who and when is still up in the air. It probably won't happen for a month or two at least.

There are plans, but this is a big event that's going to take some time to fully adapt to. Hopefully we'll be able to maintain a better staff-forum liaison than before and keep everyone up to speed.

We'll only be promoting if we need to, anyway. If we discover that our staff team are fine the way it is, then nothing will need to change.

Minus JS part, I can do most of those and there surely are people better trained in these domains around. However if we talk strictly about the forum to manage (and not the site in general, such as news page, level portal etc) it shouldn't be that hard to catch-up with things (plus phpBB team should help us if we get stuck).

However, besides new features and new events, I think our current staff can handle the situation just fine. I mean as far as I know Suyo did some crazy-coding on the forum when he felt like and some of his codes may have had errors, thus the forum bugs and all. Spambot filter can be a problem in the future, but on the bright side, nothing passed through it and (assuming it's a custom code made by Suyo, and is used only on our site (and or PD.net)) it shouldn't be a target for "spambots makers" (after all we are not that big of a community). Plus, nobody saw any Gucci or other ♥♥♥♥ posts around so be happy (there could have been worse anyway, trust me). I have complete confidence in the current team and if problems occur, I doubt there is anything that they can fix (or at least research about it to find a solution).
On the sad note, say goodbye to any "possible" on-site chats, but not like somebody used them anyway.

I've had also thoughts like these in mind... sorry if I've caused any confusion.

I would really appreciate it if you and Buff could also delete ratings on the LDP, because there are still quite a lot of 1-star ratings that are just nothing but ♥♥♥♥ (not only the one I've reported to you)

Me and Buff are global mods, not admins. Suyo was an admin. Therefore he had a lot of permissions that we don't have. Runouw is the only person who has access to just about everything in the site. LDP ratings are one of the things that I don't think we have access to. If you want someone to delete downratings, I suggest sending a message to Runouw. If I knew how to do it, I'd have done it by now.

I really wonder why only Runouw can do this. In fact, even level moderators should be able to do it. And I've just hoped this could belong to the more admin controls you're starting to learn.

I'm not entirely sure if he gives me audience, but I could give it a try to PM him.

Think about it.

...or open here if you don't want to think about it: show
Runouw probably doesn't want to risk his staff "turning against him", so to speak, and thus restricts how much they can do. For example, if a LeMod could change ratings, s/he might be able to mess with all ratings and you wouldn't even know it. Basically, if a mod was given too much power, that mod could potentially break the site. Out of their own accord, influenced by someone, I don't know, but it's always a possibility. It's to make things safer.

But wait, aren't mods supposed to be chosen for being Lawful Good paragons of justice who will uphold the rules of Runouw and whatnot?

Well... how much can you know about a person through a screen?

Or you are forgetting the simple fact that this is powered by phpBB still, if there's no option to allow level mods this kind of power, then there's nothing we can do about it.

There is; each rank is just a different set of permissions. The reason level moderators don't have power outside of the Level forums is because their job is to moderate the Level forums and no more.
