Power Level-- ...?

Some of you may have noticed some rumblings of something big happening amongst the staff, but today we are here to tell you that it is a positive thing.

Suyo, the most knowledgeable global moderator, has decided that his life away from Runouw needs his attention right now, and he is stepping down as Global Moderator. He had already been too busy to do a lot around here for a while (practically two years in fact), so this is not a total surprise. Our other two Global Moderators, ~MP3 Amplifier~ and Buff_, are here to stay.

That said, somewhat regrettably, we lack the coding knowledge that Suyo brought with him, so we won't be able to quickly go over changes like a new forum design, new features (Suyo was the one that added medals, subforum headers, and all of the spambot checks we have), etc. While some of us are trying to learn some programming, and some of us have dabbled in it already, it is not sufficient enough to bring out new changes that could possibly make the site more presentable and more interesting.

While we've basically gone two years without him, the announcement was an eye opener, so we are currently discussing changes in staff. Hopefully, we will get back to you on that in a reasonable amount of time. Expect lots of promotions, and a lot more interaction.

And no, he won't stop hosting the IRC or any crazy things like that. He'll still never be there (<3) when we need him in the IRC.

Oh, I see.

Just out of curiosity, who's coming in for promotions? Is it going to be regulars of Runouw or just people Runouw trusts?

As of right now, nobody. No sense promoting more staff if there's not work for them, right? We managed fine for at least a year without needing Suyo, and that's not about to change, lawl. In the meantime, our current staff is more than capable of running holiday forums and figuring out the medals and things, and they're constantly learning how to do more every day.

Not having a coder like Suyo is not really a problem in the short term. It may not even be a problem in the long term, but we are discussing workarounds just in case. :p

Yeah. If we get more traffic then we'll need to consider better methods of obtaining staff though.

not saying that our current mods are ♥♥♥♥ but just saying :c

I offer myself to be his replacement glomod  *is shot*

That's some truly sad news. About the spambot thing, I've noticed a lot of spambots being logged in the few last days.

A spambot called "swcoin" posted in the General topic in the SM63 area, seconds after this post.

But going on-topic again, it's sad that Suyo is dropping out. I like when a new feature is added to the site.
