Thank you for everything, Runouw.com

I mean it when I say that. It's been...wow, just over 5 years since I joined. And so much has happened in that time. Tons of drama, tons of friendships. I've met some of the most amazing people on here, I've fallen in love with this site and the designer and ngl a few individual people too. But overall you've all been like a second family to me.

So because of all this I'd be an idiot to just leave it all behind. I'm not leaving the site at least not for good, but it's time to move on. I can't be a moderator forever, I knew this from the second I became a moderator. But what I did know is that I wanted to preserve and live up to my position as long as I possibly could and that's what I've done. I've hit a point now that I think we all hit, and real life has to become the main focus. Not that it never was my main focus, but it has to be even more so now.

It's also reached a point now where it would be simply unfair to the site to have a global moderator who is clearly not as committed as they should be. This site deserves the absolute best, it deserves a staff team that can fight for it and promote it and keep it active. I just cannot do that anymore.

I know it's good to try not to reach for approval from others, again, a lesson I have learned since being on Runouw. But a part of me also is curious about how I actually did as a moderator. Did I make the right decisions? The right impressions? Did people trust me? And most importantly was I the right choice for moderator? And so on so forth.

But anyways, as I've already mentioned this isn't a leaving post. I may not even fully demote straight away, there is a possibility I may stay as site rep for a while until we work out how to let Doram award medals (I think I'm literally the only person who can do it) and also I have 5 years worth of posts in those staff forums, that I'll never be able to see again. I want to at least save anything that is memorable or means a lot to me.

Sorry about the length. Overall, thank you and I hope to be a part of your community rather than a leader once again. It will be a welcome change. :)

Well, as a person who already knew this for more than a month now ...

I guess you're in the pretty much same situation as MoD in 2012. You're seeing that it's time to take a step down and let others be in charge, and also let others inherit some stuff you've leaded for a good while. Just like MoD gave you his position and the Tier list etc. back then.

And the parallel to this moment back then is that maybe one day your situation will be easier and you might even take a higher position again.

I've also read some stuff in F23 (the topic from 2013, "now called decide MP3's future" ...) where it also felt like several people made up stuff from nowhere, but there was never a reason for you to lash out yourself this hard. Nobody's perfect; instead one has the principle of the sufficiently good attitude and ethics of your mind. And regarding that, you've been a reliable constant throughout the years, and unfortunately, you WILL mark a loss ...

of course, it's still lovely to have you around for being involved into LDCs and such, especially for the titlecards

yeah guess what, I'm bad at writing such stuff

It's a shame you're stepping down, but your reasons are solid and it's for the best.

I honestly can't pinpoint a time where I thought you made a terrible decision as a moderator. For the entire time you've been staff I reckon you did a pretty damn good job.

But you better not leave us >:x

Thank you to both of you though for such lovely feedback. I'm really glad to know that people have been happy with me in this position. Regarding that 2013 topic, that was probably the only time I really struggled as a mod and even then that was mostly due to real life struggles, rather than Runouw.com itself.

Apart from that one point I too feel like I did the best I could and I'm relieved to know I'm not alone in thinking this. :D

From my first days on here, until now and probably some more time in the future, the both of us went through pretty much everything one can imagine.
While I didn't have the chance to talk too much to you in the most recent months (make that a 0%. D : ), I can tell that you've made me a better person. As much as I'd wish to say anything about your mod work, I honestly cannot since I totally lost focus of this site about a year ago or so.

However. I can also say that I could see you growing along with your tasks, the experiences you've collected and the troubles you've faced.
All of these things actually resulted in one amazing person. This one being you.

What I'm really trying to say here is thank you. Thank you for being my friend, rival, ampli~ and plenty more. : (
