I think that the text font needs to be changed and the background (where the writing is, not the sides). That would make it look professional. Also could you move the ad to the bottom, I just think it looks out of place at the side.
So far looking amazing.

The font's fine if you ask me. It's familiar and easy to read.
I don't really find much wrong with the post background.. It's nice and light, allowing the font to stand out more, though, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to maybe tweak the color a tad.
And as for the ad, I'd assume you mean the one at the right of the forum? In which case, I agree on that one. It'd be much more convenient if it were at the bottom.

I like the main page of this website. It looks cool. The perspective view of the skyscrapers look good, too. You should put Mario & Luigi on the buildings, too. The forums banner at the top with the mountains & the letters saying ''RUNOUW.COM" looks good also. Just that it looks a little bland, but it's not too 'busy' looking.
