I like it. Nice job on the replica.

However, I am wondering why you would use 1-up Mushrooms instead of coins for the mushroom/fire flower blocks. I am also fairly disappointed that you didn't let us go up to the secret warp pipes. It's never an exact replica without them. Also, I'd suggest adding some decor (like cave plants).

The level itself was a bit laggy, but since I have a crappy computer it really doesn't matter.

I think underwater tiles for the part with the flagpole doesn't really give it that outside-feel. For the cave parts I'd suggest level transitions that have been disabled (if you don't know how to do disabling for an item, you can view here for help, simply scroll down to "Glitch Castle"). And use the standard background with no disabled level transitions for the outside part.

But overall, this was neat. I'd say 2.5/5 (rounds up to 3/5).
