For a first level, it's alright. I see that you already know about cutoff as there's not really any in this level. It's incredibly simplistic and bare, though, but hey, every journey starts with a single step.

I'm agreeing with the platforming being somewhat simple. But the graphical work does make up for it to some extend. It's ok for a first level. As said above, it will take a bunch of time and levels to get better.
So don't let yourself putting down by lower scores in the beginning. Anyone started like that. : P
