Enemy Battle
This is my second level. You'll go through several rooms with enemies within. You have to press the p switch and defeat enemies in them

I narrowly approve of this level. Please keep the following in mind when designing future levels:

  • The player usually would expect at least a variety of tiles to be used in levels, but other than the switch-controlled blocks, all I see here is blue bricks.
  • Test your levels a little more. Some switches and enemies can be skipped due to either a lack of confined placement or walls being needed but are non-existent (such as when you should follow the arrow downward into another room).
  • Use experimental placement over spam. This applies not only to enemies, but items too (though in this level I'm more concerned about the enemy spam). In this game, 500 Goombas can all be killed as easily as a single, measly Goomba, unless they're placed differently.

I have all the same complaints as Triple J but I also have a few more:

-There are no transitions whatsoever. if you would have had pipes or doors to the other rooms in other transitions, this level would have had next to no lag.
-The "P Switches" are more of an obstacle than anything to make the level more fun. If "Added Fun" means "More Waiting" Then you got what you were going for.

Just my opinion, but I'm pretty surprised this level got approved at all. I have to rate 1/5 stars.
Might be ready in a bit.

I surprisingly don't experience lag except from the last room, where I have 15 fps at first until I get rid of enemies. Apparently, some enemies, namely bullies, bob-ombs and large goombas, are more "lag-heavy" than others. But yes, the scenery is truly simplistic and un-elaborated. I gave 2 stars.

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.
