Review: Flooded Kingdom

The first portion of your level is very easy - it has obstacles, but you can just swim up and hit the switch, avoiding them easily.
This is a problem - you should redesign this portion so that you will have to swim through the obstacles, leaving no room for avoiding them.
Try making Mario go through a long path as an alternative, forcing him to hurry and get coins to survive; as an example.

An issue that breaks your level is in the horizontal level transition: Mario can come in from the left easily, and from the right if he has the invisibility powerup.
With these, Mario can easily get through the door at the top, thereby passing all obstacles without harm.

The obstacles in that area are easy to deal with anyhow - a moving platform to ride up, a rotating block, a rotating platform, some clocks, a bit of platforming...
Then you're done, for through that door is the Shine Sprite.

Your level is far too easy: you can avoid seeing nearly every obstacle if you try, and the obstacles are easy to deal with anyway.
It's too easy to be fun: you might as well GIVE Mario the Shine Sprite.

Since this fundamentally breaks the level, it gets one star. If you fix that, you'll get two stars because it'd still be too easy.

Thanks for the feedback on the level, and I know the level is easy, it wasn't meant to be a hard level. the idea of it was that you have one part of the level that is with water showing you what the part without water would generally look like.
About the issue with the level transitions, well I knew about the one where you could get in from the right side of the level, but not the one where you could get in through the left, do I thank you for telling me about that. I didn't remove the ability to do that from the right side because I thought that it didn't really help or hurt you in any way (I now know that I was wrong).
Anyways once again thank you for rating and giving me feedback on my level and if you could i'd like to asks you to check out my other levels and perhaps give feedback on them? ;)

oh yeah, sure. Would you like me to PM you the reviews or just post them in their respective level threads?

I'd also like it if you could look at my levels - some of them never got rated and that really bothers me...

@HickRanger you don't need to pm me unless it's something you want only me to know. If not then keep it posted in the topic, so people actually think that we're doing stuff and not just ignoring the level.

And, yeah i'll go try out some of your levels and give feedback appropriately. ;)

To clarify: Normally it's encouraged to post reviews publically, as long as they're not against the rules of course. Whenever I handle a request I've got through PM, I post my review in the level topic as well.

@HickRanger, apparently only one out of your six levels hasn't been rated yet. Comments, well ... maybe I'll look at some of them but I don't want to promise. Since none of your levels is actually larger than 4000 tiles, it would also be lovely to see something longer and more elaborated from you (like, worked out within a week or two). And I also took quite a long time until my own levels got rated and commented regularily.

@Nuclear_Blaze, as mentioned the level transition doesn't block properly from the left above the horizontal cage. A level transition covers 4 vertical rows of tiles in total, and in a regularily wide transition (~30 - 100 tiles) you must fill out completely the outer rows. In a very wide transition you must even fill out more rows (depending on how many are cut off by the camera while playing). In doubt better playtest if a transition works properly. By the way I take my hat off for you not getting mad of low ratings at all but taking them as a chance to improve.

@Supershroom thanks for telling me that information about level transitions. It will be put to good use! :)

Thanks for the encouragement, but I don't have a lot of ideas (which is why I haven't made as many levels as I'd like to) and the ideas I do have aren't really enough to build a big level on. I would appreciate it immensely if you gave me some ideas to use. |:)

@HickRanger If you are looking for idea on what to base your levels on, think about games that you have played. Maybe you could get inspiration from those. (I got the inspiration for the name of my three part series from the game Paper Mario) :)
