The Sequel of 40 Red Coins! (Merlon's Sky, Shy Guy Clock Tower)
(for all players playing as Luigi, treat yourself as Dreamy Luigi)
Storyline:
After Mario finds the 40 Red Coins, when he collects the Shine Sprite, it teleported him into the sky! Mario has to collect again 40 Red Coins to advance... maybe it will uncover the reason why he was collecting them in the first place.

Well, it wasn't only that, also small levels can shine if done well, but in this case it was the lazy structure in general - the castle "walls" only consist of one tile each and is also always the same. The "inner" of this castle is very airy with a lot of background shining through, a variety of background tiles would do better.

You've already catched yourself the most important thing - more effort. No master has fallen from the sky, legends like Yurimaster (-Zero), Vesoralla, Jumbo101 etc. have also started on a similar level, and you have potential.

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

Hey, at least 2 stars are better than one. As for the level itself, the gameplay isn't too bad, but the clock tower part is pretty hard to get through.
For the graphics, you could try using more tiles than just the castle walls, add some decorations (I know trees inside a castle is weird, but at least it's better than an empty void, or use rocks/fences), and add some background tiles where it's appropriate, because the clock tower area doesn't really feel like it's inside a tower.

You can actually make a sign longer than the limit through manually editing the level code in text editors like Notepad, so you don't need to use multiple signs.
Also, maybe it's just my computer, but the bullet bills and number of enemies made the level somewhat laggy, you can add a transition between the clock tower and the outside to avoid that.

Finally, at the end of the level, you have the shine placed over a gap, where many obstacles are right under. I believe this can potentially cause a glitch to happen where the level continues with nothing to do.

Anyway, I'd give this a 2.5, but that's not an option, so 3 stars?
