Silent Conversations and a Crow's Final Song!
My latest story, and one of my personal favorites. A girl bound in silence finds the words to say to her prospective girlfriend as they visit her religious father in a dusty town on the edge of Kansas, where the crows' migration south brings forth anchored memories, the path to resolution, and a new start.

Oh man, if Metroidvania becomes a thing for this LDC then I might participate. I love doing Metroidvania levels (as obvious as it may be).

I'd be 100% down for either metroidvania or dream, but I think metroidvania would be far better suited to something like LL, just because it allows for a lot more creativity, especially in terms of progression.

Plus the aesthetics fit far better in LL for the theme, though for SM63 it could absolutely work and I'd imagine has been done many a time before- Silver Star Red Coin levels are a thing after all.

If this does become the theme, will I lose points or be disqualified if my level doesn't fit the theme perfectly? I'll still try, but I've never even heard of Metroidvania before.
