Level Portal Rules

Since most people/noobs will abuse level portal, so, suggest your rules here. Which can really enforce user to make better level by viewing all the rules. And stop the spammers, a bit?

I don't think this is needed i'm afraid. Two reasons why...


1. level portal rules:

I'll understand this part is needed, but might not be needed. We already got rules, and don't have to worry about downraters.

2. reporting

Now this is not needed! Thing is, this whole level portal is hidden from everyone but mods and lp testers. And i think everyone here knows how to follow the rules.

I have been thinking about revamping the Level Portal rules and making them more public, not only so more people can find the rules but so it's much easier to follow all of them. We've enforced a lot of Level rules in our day and I think it would be for the best if I made a topic combining those rules into one. Depending on what happens, I may get started on that this weekend. (or I may just wait until the portal is actually released to the public)

A report levels thread is not going to be needed with this new portal, because (thankfully) you can directly report the post using that "!" icon in the top right corner. And that's saying the level even makes it past the Level Mod approval stage. This is truly one of the great benefits of connecting the forums with the portal.

I got a suggestion here, not backseatmoderation, but just for entertainment,

DON"T BLAME ME OR YOU DIE. Just kidding, I'm not supposed to be that mad. .

In my point of views, rules should be short and simple but sensible , user-friendly and efficient to encourage teenagers or even some kids to read the annoying titles. >.<

By the way, do we have any system that must force users read the rules before they submit levels? And even they can't skip it. If they didn't read it, the uselessness of the rules was apparent.

1: No Inappropriate Materials In Level

Every member should not post any level which is illegal, pornographic, massive swearing and/or any inappropriate materials.

2: Think Before You Post
----------------

Re-test your level before it is posted and be respectful to other members.

3: No Conversations
----------------

Level Portal is portal for member to submit level. No conversations are allowed. Please use private messages or any other communication ways.

4: No Downrating
----------------

No more downrating allowed. Massive downrating without any visible reason may lead to serious punishment. We can detect all downrating.

5: No Spamming Levels
----------------

Any levels spamming to the portal will be deleted, warning will be issued. Any deleted level got submitted again will cause banning.

Spamming levels now include the following common levels:

-Hardest Level (Shine sprites is close to mario but you use a glitch to force us can't reach it.)
-Easiest Level (Automatically get the shine sprites)

I mean we should allow level comprise Glitch Usage. This involved whenever a level used a glitch for non-rules breaking usage will be accepted, but we should not allow any level about showing glitch like Glitch museum, etc.

Translation: Levels consisting of just glitches aren't allowed, but levels that use glitches to "enhance gameplay" and get through the level are allowed.

This was because it wasn't a proper level. The level portal is for levels, not for displays.

Good point, Star King. If Glitches weren't allowed, my Luigi's Museum would be deleted.
