So it does it seem like after Xero was taken off the Next big things tier, updates are being discussed?

Since the NBT tier says which people could be the next phenomena, I'd guess the following people should be in there:

FrozenFire
Jumbo101
KABOOM
FluorescenceLight
yours truly

in an order which is to be determined.

Also, further suggestions:

remove lordpat from Graphics tier, replace with Star king and put him at King
knock Nwolf off from Fun and put -BY in his place
Jumbo should definitely be in Innovation, but I'm unsure about who to remove from there
as said, put Sk at Ace and -BY at King in Fame and Notoriety, and leave the rest in order
Venexis doesn't seem to be retired anymore, maybe put Buff or Nin in his place in Legacy

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

I'm BY no means famous in SM63's LDing scene imo.
Portal views don't quite justify this. It could be some mad person playing them over and over again or something.

(I love how my phone immediately auto corrected by to BY )

1000 views or even 1800 views probably don't come from just one person or two. It means something IMO, it shows that your levels are popular above the ordinary, as well as the amount of 70+ 5-star ratings (I've counted them for fun).

I haven't even touched the SM63 LD since summer began, and I don't have any plans for the future either. Also, why is this list made up entirely of Team Super members?

man, I've been blinded by the fact that you've succeeded in every LDC you've recently entered, 3rd, 1st and 2nd. And that Team Super thing is a friggin' accident, looks like I've just went shopping for new talented designers.

Leave Peter within that tier, I'd say then.

Maybe Goldy could be the next well-developping designer if he makes serious use of his potential. Or maybe awesomeguy 99.

It's true, the LDP is rather quiet now. I've also hoped that Karyete would continue at where he stopped with Sky Goddess Shrine, but he seems to be focused on LL only. I'd also love to see more duels happen in the DA, especially with newer designers, e.g. such as Jumbo vs. FL.

It's just hard for me to go back to SM63 over and over. I've played a lot of SM63 and LL, but whenever I go back to SM63 it just feels like a downgrade.

I have about three WIP levels (one of which is so near completion) but none of them are any good...

Well, I've just been listening to music and such and it gave me inspiration to start making some more levels. But mostly finishing a level that I started making months ago and never finished.
Seriously, Kirby Canvas Curse's Music is the BOMB.
On a very unrelated note, I commented on this video. Its obvious what commenter it is if you look at the first spoiler box of my sig.
The level has a sneak peek also in my sig and may or may not be a follow-up to Grassland Panic.
And since it'll be a while until I get Mario Maker, I'm sticking to my roots for a bit.
Might be ready in a bit.

Oops, I missed out on this forum in general for a loong time.

FrozenFire wrote:Yeah I kinda lost all interest on it already and LL's definitely my next step

I kinda agree with this, but I still enjoy the SM63 level designing whenever I can get to it. Just because it's very bare bones compared to LL doesn't mean that there isn't a lot of fascinating tricks and design techniques in the designer. I'll probably work with both for a while.

@lots of things said since the past few pages: I remember a couple years ago I was so amped up to get on the top of the tier list and all that jazz, and how I really wanted to make something great. But then, nowadays I kinda stopped caring because then I realized how subjective the list is. I mean, granted the listing comes from statistics, but even then those statistics came from third party judgings. Not trying to say it's skewed and the top tier designers aren't all that great, but when you think about it, you don't have to be on that list to create a great level. All it takes is dedication.
Expect something cool here soon!
