Where all Level Designers take on each other to see who's the best.
♫
Based on the old
Dueling Arena, this thread hopes to gather level designers both from Super Mario 63 and Last Legacy to duel!
I know this doesn't look like much right now, but I'll work on the banner and overall presentation of the post at a later time.

How to Duel1. Find someone to be your opponent. You can even have more than one opponent if you want to. In fact, you can even do a Collab Duel, one team versus another team! ...but the default is 1v1.

2. Decide on a Game (Super Mario 63 or Last Legacy), a Theme, and a Deadline (anywhere from a week to a month works fine).
3. Post about it here, then start. Your duel will be added to our Current Duels section.
4. Find at least 3 people to judge your level. Don't worry about it, there's always someone willing to do it.
5. When your level is done, PM it to me and I'll add it to the Current Duels section for it to be judged (alternatively post it in the old Dueling Vault thread and just link it. Or upload it to the Portal and link it. Just make sure the level is somewhere it can be reached). Judging rules are the same as in LDCs. The level must be made from scratch for the LDC, fit the theme, and whatnot. It will be judged by the standards of Fun, Graphics and Other as well.
6. When the judges finish their job, I'll announce the winner.
It's that simple!
House RulesThere's a variety of rules that you can add to your duel if you want. Just let us know if you want to use them. Here are some examples of house rules:
25quared ~ The level's size must be 25x25.
One Hour Rush: You must make the level in one hour, starting at the same time.
Automatic Level: The level is cleared with no input from the player.
Crossover: Each player designs in a different game. SM63 vs LL!
Puzzle: The level must contain puzzle elements.
Mini-Game Showdown: Your level needs to have at least one mini-game in it. (suggested by TripleJ)
No Signs, No Direction: You cannot use anything that produces text. (suggested by TripleJ)
Hidden Treasures and Secrets: Your level needs to include a reasonably consistent system of secrets or hidden items. (suggested by Triple J)
Who Needs Graphics?: Your Level will only be judged by Fun and Other (therefore, the maximum score becomes 15). (suggested by Harmless)
Counterpick: Each duelist will secretly pick a theme for their opponent. (suggested by Harmless)
Monkeys Spinning Monkeys: The level must have a dancing monkey somewhere. (suggested by Harmless)
Round Match: The duel will consist of successive rounds. Whoever wins a certain amount of rounds first will get the victory. (suggested by FrozenFire)
Have you finished those errands?: The levels must involve the player taking care of some errands. (suggested by Triple J)
One Way Getaway: There can only be one path to take. (suggested by Triple J)
Multi-Mission Extravaganza: Your level must have at least three different ways to clear it. (suggested by Triple J)
Of course, you can come up with your own house rules for your duels. If you have any suggestions, let us know and we'll add them here!
Judging PanelThe purpose of this Panel is to always have people ready to judge duels, therefore, making the task of finding judges for your duel easier. If you're interested in being part of this Panel, let us know!
