"Mission Impossible." Sort of self-explanatory, but the online definition pretty much sums it up.

SM63 Theme Ideas:
Tileset Mix: There must be some tile from every single tileset.
Platforming: No tiles from any tileset at all! Only items, enemies, and decor.
Enemies: Every single enemy must be included once.
Colors: The level must look colorful and appealing.
Power-Ups: Every power-up,F.L.U.D.D,and usable/grab-able item(except silver starts or red coins)must exist in the level.
Town: The level must feature a town with explore-able houses.
Horizontal: The limit for tiles across the Y-axis is 25,causing most of the level to go from left to right.
Vertical: The limit for tiles across the X-axis is 25,causing most of the level to go up or down.
Super Mario Galaxy Theme: Sling starts and warp pipes are located across the level, and are the main way Mario moves throughout the level. They will bridge gaps between rooms, floating island,or different areas.
Well, that's all I can think of.

So I went ahead and did a complete overhaul of the theme list FF created several weeks ago, and I also updated it with new themes from this thread

Here's the link ♡

EDIT: Because y naut
Geometric - Somehow make geometric shapes part of your level. (May be better suited to LL's planets and stuff than SM63)
Dream - Literally how has this not been suggested yet, I think it could be p neat
Cyberpunk - This is 4 u brycæ
Steampunk - In the same vein as the previous except not 4 u brycæ
Utopia/Dystopia - self-explanatory; use either/both
Corrupted - Somehow work corruption into your level. Interpret any way you want--people, government, level itself, whatever
Journey - An epic tale or quest
Core - Design a level literally in a circle wrapping around some object or place at the core of the level. Or work backwards, whatever you like.

Also I'm adding categories to the gdoc

Quite some people (especially MK, duh :>) want the 5th 25squared to happen first. Anyway I'll just comment on some that are really worth considering, only focusing on SM63 first.

Volcano, or more generalized, Underground - the vast majority of all active designers has already made something with Volcanoes. If you extend it even further and allow all other kinds of underground in one go - be it caves, or mines, or underground factorial plants whatever - you'll have an incredibly wide range and it should attract many.

Eastern - Really interesting one. Includes Far East touches a la Dragon Valley as well as desert ruins and more. Nan and Yuri are trying it out already.

All kinds of Fortresses - Home game for Peter, if he still was interested. Why not only do Bowser's Castle? There are plenty of other kinds of fortresses you could think of.

Scavenger Hunt - a level where you must collect wide-spread red coins or silver stars - nothing too finnicky, right? This one should also be tried out on occasion.

Wide-Stretched Journey - Similar to the above, yet you can also make it a long platformer. Requires you to make your level large and probably prohibits level series, yet this shouldn't be too restrictive.

Obstacle Course - Another interesting one. Kinda like Pure Platformer, but with a demand of higher difficulty.

Vertical - Levels which are based on mostly going up and down. Transitions should stay allowed for lag reasons, though.

FLUDDs and Power Caps - I've been proposing this for ages. Both of them are essential tools of SM63's designer, it shouldn't be too complicated making a level based mostly on one of the two, or even both.

I fully support the 25 by 25 theme, except it should be combined with some other theme. I'm thinking to combine mission impossible or Obstacle Course with the 25 by 25 theme. Other themes I strongly support are:
Fludds and power caps
Long Haul (999 in horizontal or vertical)
Journey/Epic Quest
Pit of_____trials.(Seperate rooms or areas represent a seperate trial. The number represents the number of trials required)
I think we need to start narrowing it down,so I'm listing only the ones I strongly support.
I also think we should have more SM63 LDC's because there have been none this year,2 last year, and 3 in 2014.(Only including the big, main LDCs)

I don't know what's up with that, but I do know that some of us have some pretty busy lives.

I'll throw down some thoughts, words or ideas, that could be used as themes...maybe?

    Supernatural/Superhero
    4th wall breaking
Something with the layout schemes of Wii Fit
    Olympics

Just some brain vomit I thought I'd throw out here.

Can you clarify what you mean by this?

Also, don't be afraid to add stuff to the GDoc. :p (I already added the new stuff listed since my last post, but for the future, just go ahead)

I think what he means is have like a minigame collection and have each one track high scores.

That would be cool too.
I meant something with...like the um...white background and stuff of Wii Fit. Seems bland and dull, but I might be surprised.

Shovelware Showdown: Make the worst level possible, and the level has to be as cringeworthy as possible without being virtually unplayable. The lowest score wins.
Automatic Level: The level should be completed with no player inputs.
Graveyard: Make a creeeepy graveyaaard.
Mushrooms: Make lots of mushrooms, big and small.
Food and Drink: Make a level based around foods and drinks.
Luigi Included: Use the in-game designer and make a level based on Luigi, and tested using Luigi. Add Fire Bars and Thwomps if you'd like later using the site designer.
Sports Outing: Make a level based on a sport, examples: Soccer/Football, golf, something like that.
The Internet: Make a level based on a website, or something of the similar.
bee movie: make a bee movie level featuring bees and more bees
