I dunno. I would have really liked a Colors theme. But it would be difficult to execute in SM63 due to the limited palette. Honestly, I think all of the options we had would have been better suited to LL just because of its capabilities: Color boxes and triggers and filters for Colors, as well as the amount of tilesets and items, plus item customization; more terrain/platform/item versatility for exploration as well as triggers for progression in Metroidvania; I'm not exactly sure what specifically would be good for Dream, but I would probably have ended up doing some stuff with planets and moving blocks... And then someone brought up how Vertical would work really well in LL too, since you can make a true vertical level using the vertical transitions.

I think for the first poll, I voted Dream, Colors, Spring, and... Metroidvania? I don't remember. I saw Spring and Dream as being the ones which would work best in SM63, but Colors and Metroidvania were also plausible to work with in my mind. In hindsight I think I would have wanted Vertical, but I didn't really realize that until after I voted.

HA! SO YOU'VE COME CRAWLING BACK TO MY THEME!

I suggested "vertical" because there's nothing graphical that limits it and because I got a really cool level idea that would work perfectly with vertical.

For anyone who still wants their theme to be done one day ... I've liked this procedure really a lot, I think we should stick to it. We could even have this as an ongoing thread for theme polls.

While I'm all for organizing hub threads and stuff, it would be more efficient to just make a new thread for each one so that we're not digging through pages upon pages of posts. I wouldn't doubt that we'll keep using this procedure, though. It seemed like it was pretty successful. (Obviously we won't be using it for every single LDC but I think we'll probably continue with it for some)
