I honest to god don't know why I bothered with this post. Sm63 is dead to runouw and it is dying even faster in the community now that the level player and game downloads have been (permanently?) removed.

SM63 is pretty old and won't be updated any further, you're right. But hey, you said you liked LL's level designer at least, so why don't you head over to the Last Legacy forums to contribute suggestions for it? Since the game isn't fully released yet, your suggestions can definitely have an impact, as many users' already have had.

I said that because you said this:

Anyway, SM63 was part of the childhood of a lot of us (including myself--I was around 9 or 10 when I started playing it), and that's why the level designing scene is still thriving on the forums. Even if the LDer in its final state isn't super optimal, people make do with it and enter some pretty amazing levels into our contests and the level portal. It definitely takes time and dedication to make a good level, but it can be done, and it can be a pretty fun process.

It's also possible an open-source project like the one Suyo started could get revived again, and the level designer could be revamped through that, so you could try gauging some interest in something like that (both on the forums and on chat) and see if any programmers around here are up for it.

That's already been done and there has been no confirmation on the continuation of the project. Besides, that modified level designer doesn't really add anything new. I don't even know why I try, nothing ever gets done on this site...

I've seen some things get done on the site, but maybe that's just me. I guess the biggest problem is everyone is busy with school tbh. But school's ending for a lot of folks, so maybe if you stick around and talk with people about possible projects, they can help with it.

It just takes some asking to get done.
